There have been a few people who have commented or asked about what happened to Gahee’s eyes as seen in the above performance. It was clearly visible that Gahee’s eyes were swollen, creating speculations that something was not right. While many speculated that it was probably due to After School’s recent increase in schedule activities, the actual reason behind Gahee’s puffy eyes was the tears she have been shedding for the passing away of her friend, Boys Over Flowers actress Jang Ja Yeon.
After School Park Gahee “My friend, Ja Yeon, I’m Sorry~”

“Peacefully close your eyes. Sorry.. I’m sorry….”
Female group After School’s Park Gahee is mourning over the death of Jang Ja Yeon.
On the 8th, Park Gahee wrote on her minihompy “Jang Ja (Yeon)… Now… are you happy? Peacefully close your eyes now… Many people are crying tears for you… Sorry.. I’m sorry…. I’ll pray.. always… for you..”, expressing her sadness.
It is known that Park Gahee and the deceased were good friends. Park Gahee was seen at the mortuary of the deceased spilling her tears.
A staff from After School’s management agency said, “Park Gahee and the deceased were very close. They used to keep in touch and recently after hearing the news of the sudden suicide, it has been very hard for Park Gahee.”
Despite being in a mourning state, Gahee still showed her professionalism and still continued her schedule activities despite being visibly seen as to how badly affected she is by the death of her friend. I hope Gahee will have the strength to pull through this difficult period.

The above photographs were taken at the premiere of Kwon Sang Woo’s movie “슬픔보다 더 슬픈이야기” which was held on the 8th of March. This was the second sign of Gahee’s puffy eyes, the first being After School’s performance at Inkigayo held earlier on the same day.
