YG Entertainment's president Yang Hyun Suk personally stepped forward to explain the misunderstanding regarding the idol group Big Bang's leader, G-Dragon, on the company blog.

From the beginning, netizens and the public opinion of G-Dragon's compositions have been questioned: "Maybe they just add Kwon Ji Yong's name to the songs that were made by other composers?" "How can he compose anything when they can't even cover a song?"

"Since creating beats is such a basic task, YG and the composers work collaboratively to produce two to three arrangements each day. He personally chooses from the dozens of, hundreds of existing beats the composers create, for the ones he likes the best. At home, he makes the melody and lyrics and comes into the YG studio alone to record a demo. Then it is decided upon whether or not it will be recorded for an album, with the other Big Bang members, who then rehearse and record together after discussing and consulting with each other.

The composers of YG Entertainment are very strict with their criterion for the music arrangements, however the works that were formed as a collaboration with G-Dragon are the ones that become hits so it becomes a 'win-win' strategy for both parties. The beats are created by the composers and the rest is done separately by Ji Yong. The task of creating each lyrics and melody is thoroughly done by G-Dragon alone and the other composers participate not even 1%. Please, please, I hope that there will be no more misunderstandings. "

The message also announced the delay of G Dragon's solo album from April to August.

GD is quite an asset. IMO, he has pretty good taste when it comes to picking samples and composing melodies (-Lollipop and Sunset Glow, sorry people!). If Big Bang doesn't work out in the future, he could easily become another Teddy or Kush in his own right.

Well, he has sampled melodies from other artists without crediting in some of his songs, so I guess people are suspicious.
