Source Music, which is part of HYBE Labels, announced, “Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won have signed exclusive contracts with the agency on the basis of mutual trust. They will make their debut as the first girl group launched through the cooperation of HYBE and Source Music.”

They continued, “Please show lots of anticipation and support for the two artists who will show new sides of themselves at Source Music, which places importance on good music and the value of content.”

finally! I for one am glad that the debut team is skewing on the older side. just hoping there won't be huge age gaps between sakura and the younger members (who probably aren't revealed yet).

if yunjin is in the group then together they're born in '98, '00 and '01 so that's a fairly solid group of that age range. i'm sure the rest of the group will be younger but that's still a promising start!

It would be nice if this group was older and the maknae was 18/17, pleaseee. We don’t need more 14/15 yr olds. There’s that new group Classy (?) that has a 13 year old (!) and a lot of young teens and I can’t get into that.

classy was from the reality show that had kids from age 10, so I'm not surprised so many young members got in. which is also why I could never get into the show or the group despite Yuri being one of the mentors.

I think with IVE we all knew that Wonyoung wouldn't be the youngest, but I really didn't expect a 14 year old (aka the same age Wonyoung debuted) and looking like a literal child too

I’m hyped! I’ve been really surprised at liking the output from IZ*ONE girls even though I was a casual fan of the group at best. Yena and Yuri especially is now a fave of mine. I’m looking forward to more news on this debut!

i hope that the group is well managed and promoted and we don't end up with another pristin situation. different company but the hype that this group is getting predebut, especially with several members already famous, is giving me a similar vibe.

I would be more hyped if GFriend's last year had been better managed... I'm still sour from the reaction to Sowon's n*zi picture as well as GFriend's disbandement, they seemed to be put in limbo as soon as Source started really working on the next gg. Good luck...
Though in the end, Sakura and Chaewon both bring a lot of talent and fans, so as long as they're paired with a cool songs (GFriend had good songs so that's reassuring) and that the non-IZONE members are allowed to shine, like IVE, they'll do well.
But please don't debut children :(
