I’m still processing how I feel on this tbh but I already have something that is really irking me.

Like the second half of the song is very Itzy. A group under the same company that is still active and running. It seems like an extremely bizarre choice to me, like the first half of the song I get the concept and the group separates itself from Twice and Itzy but the second half kinda ruins that.

I really love Like Ooh Ahh and Bad Girl Good Girl, Dalla Dalla was a fun debut song even if it’s not exactly what I’m into (and the performances were so entertaining!), and even though I don’t grow up on this song with my Wonder Girls post I realized I really like Irony.

it's very challenging and i love a good challenge. i like that girls are getting to go into the really weird musical territory that some boy groups have been doing. we'll see if my brain can get on board with this after more listens. if it does, i'll probably end up loving it

it's bad but it's also BORINGLY bad. other disjointed, messy songs like igab, next level, zimzalabim etc had distinct melodies for each segment and the vocal strength to tie it all together.

but I've listened to this twice and all I can remember are the ottae bits towards the end. the vocals, other than lily, just seem overpowered by the song, the mixing is weird, the yelling is itzy but worse, the mv is so grandiose for what this actually was. the product placement was just silly.

i genuinely don't understand what i'm supposed to be getting from this? itzy were loud, bragadocious bratpop (affectionate), aespa are trying to battle the black mamba villain and giving vocals, ive are mature sounding pop visuals, stayc, weeekly etc. i got the groups concept from the beginning but here i'm struggling

other songs i thought were disjointed were also interesting and i wanted to get it. i don't get it and i've made my peace with it

Honestly JYPE seems really lost recently. They’ve put out songs in the past I completely understand why they took off and became a hit so they can have the magic touch, but recent decisions have been way off.

IVE/Starship really did it right imo. Their debut stood out amongst the crowd and it paid off with a really successful song that stays in the top 5/10. I’m looking forward to where they go next with their first comeback.

I feel sorry for the girls, they can clearly sing but end up debuting with a song that barely shows off their vocals.

Ok I watched in full one last time.

Long story short this song is not for me. Honestly the MV is really pleasant to look at overall, the budget is definitely there but I wish there was a little bit of a story to tie it together. I know kpop is allergic to that despite loving the crap out of lore lol but Yena’s MV recently was one of my favorites in a hot minute since you can actually see somewhat of a plot. It could’ve been executed better but I’ll take it over expensive MVs that still feel hollow.

Honestly the biggest bummer was Tank’s MV not being released, I was much more interested in that and had my post prepared for both of them till I realized it’s just O.O for now.
Tank is also just ok, I LOVE the pre chorus till realizing it’s the last one before the climax of the song. The catchy embarrassing chorus is a lot of fun, and those vocals right before is jarring but the contrast is kinda cool?? The verses in between are very ‘ok’, so without those other standout parts it would be a basic b-side.

i was mostly confused on first listen but i like it on second listen its fun 🤷♀️ the second song in the middle by itself would probably have been a better choice (but it does sound itzy-ish) considering a lot of the members are quite young and look it the softer song suits them a lot more and feels like a more natural fit. the flowers in the scene for the song switch and the big poofy dresses are cute too.

I think the Itzy comparisons (or at least mine anyways) is the debut Itzy/them in 2019. I was getting Dalla Dalla and Icy vibes from that section visually and a little bit sound wise. Plus I see MITM a bit of a one-off since they returned to their colorful aesthetic with their next comeback
