Nam Woo Hyun - A Song For You

Well, I missed the memo that Woo Hyun had new music out this year! The title track, "Calm & Passion" is great (if you're a fan of Taemin's "Move" then give it a go), but also check out "A Song For You" because it's an upbeat and mood boosting pop tune!

This softer side of CL works so well.

Kingdom - Burn

Album: History of Kingdom: Part III. IVAN (EP / Mini Album)

Lead Single: Black Crown

A great mid-tempo pop song that really shows off the group's potential while staying true to the unique sound they've been cultivating since their debut. I thought this track was much more solid than the lead single.

NOVEMBER

2AM - Always Me

Lead Single: 가까이 있어서 몰랐어 (Should′ve known)

I am NOT normally a ballad girl, but the guitar and strong bass line here make this one pretty enjoyable. It's not groundbreaking or giving us anything new, but it's a vibe. It's always nice to hear capable singers like the 2AM members shine on a track like this and remind us that they really should be out here releasing more music.

Twice - Push & Pull (JIHYO,SANA,DAHYUN)

Album: Formula of Love: O+T=<3 (Full Album)

Lead Single: The Feels

Push & Pull is so much stronger than the lead single, "The Feels" in my opinion. It's a great, understated, funky pop track.

Monsta X - Autobahn

Album: No Limit (EP / Mini Album)

Lead Single: Rush Hour

This whole Mini Album is FANTASTIC. It's great from start to finish. I love the B Side to the lead single, Ride With U, but decided to highlight the driving energy of "Autobahn" here because it's so much fun. Joohoen's rap in this also just sounds great. We love a Mini Album that sticks to a theme!

SF9 - Scenario

Album: Rumination (EP / Mini Album)
Release Date: November 22, 2021
Lead Single: Trauma

This song absolutely slaps from start to finish - that is all!

DECEMBER

ONF - Show Must Go On

This is an interesting, rapid, absolute banger of a song! It makes me feel like running fast through a city at dusk lmao.

You're right about CL op, some of my favourite tracks from her original album are the more heartfelt ones (thnx, rewind). I'm sure when I get around to listening to Alpha I'll feel the same way.

I don't think I actually have much to add on the topic of underrated, and I don't want to clog up a post about deep cuts with title tracks, but I'd like to shout out 3YE's Stalker which was released at the beginning of the year, it's a really good song, and with wider appeal than their previous tracks.

As far as deep cuts go from this quarter I liked Everglows Nighty Night, pretty much all of Weki Meki's 'I Am Me' lol but with specific love to Who Am I, First Dream and One Day. Luminous would've been a great title track.

Push & Pull is also one of my favourites! But it's a very strong album. I love Fila, Last Waltz, Cruel, Moonlight, Cactus, Candy - and here I go, having listed half of it lmao.

I would like to add Younha's Big Picture to the list, I enjoyed her album but this one is really the one I'm going back to the most.

ooo the 2am song is nice, not your typical ballad and I actually preferred it to the 2 title tracks.
