hyoyeon and boa in a group together? already 100% more of a cultural milestone than sperm. i'll put up with how much sm's concepts for karina creep me up just for those two. wendy and taeyeon together on vocals? iconic. Seulgi there to round out the balance? incredible. i would've replaced karina with ningning but I suppose they need one visual who can vaguely keep up. personally i think winter alone would've been enough aespa rep though, there's only 4 of them. could've put yoona in the group instead and the internet would've broken

it would've been complete with krystal though. just feels empty without f(x).

Having BoA and Seulgi together especially is so exciting. My only concern is I’m sure they’ll prioritize aespa but I hope not too much, and that they give BoA a standout part since she is the blueprint. But I do think having two most popular aespa members is smart since with how huge the group is right now.

I might as well be negative: I really don’t care at all. It’s gonna be Aespa-lite girl crush maybe with a Charlie’s Angel theme.

It’s gonna be interesting to see BoA in a group context. I kind of assumed she would be above this. But maybe this is a part of her PR campaign. She has spent her career as a soloist and is the centerpiece of her work. Here…not so much. How will they utilize her (Obvious Leader) especially since she fulfills a very similar niche as Seulgi?

When people were thinking who would be in the female version of SuperM I assumed Taeyeon was off the table. I kind of thought she was…not over…but a little okay with less idol work. Apparently she bored enough to do this.

Wendy is only there because Irene couldn’t.

The Aespa picks are predictable. NingNing isn’t popular enough and with Wendy there is unnecessary. Giselle again not popular enough to sub out. Wynter functionally is a solid lead vocalist, and with her star on the rise it’s very easy to see why.

I think this group is stacked to say the least but like…I’m so unmotivated to hear what they gonna do. Giving Aespa knock offs

i'm excited to see what the song is gonna sound like and how they perform. they have solid performers in boa, seulgi and hyoyeon. i dont like them but taeyeon and wendy are solid vocalists, and seulgi is a solid lead vocalist. aespa girls are tbh unnecessary, but the whole unit thing is more to promote them.

This actually has potential to be a teeeeeny bit ruined for me by the fact that I have never cared for Taeyeon's voice (kpop blasphemy I know). Hopefully it won't put me off too much.

The lineup looks legit, minus the aespa girls... I get they put Karina in the group because she's the visual or whatever but why Winter when Ningning exists?
Also curious about the choreo. Hyo, Boa and Seulgi will have to tone it down a lot. Hoping they get an epic dance break at least.

i think a lot of people are underestimating karina and winter tbh. they are so incredibly talented and have good stage presence and we've only seen a fraction of what they can do. Ningning is my favorite member in aespa, but i can understand why she wasn't included. Her stage presence isn't as strong and the group already has 2 main vocalists. I would have LOVED to see Luna in this group, but SM hates women and especially f(x) so....also would have loved to see Yuri in the lineup cuz she's my SNSD bias.

But overall this is a dream come true for me. The potential of this group is staggering and i just PRAY that SM at least gives them a semblance of the same run SuperM had cuz their music was not consistent at all, the lineup was a bit questionable and they didn't really have impact YET SM pulled out all the strips. This group will do very well easily, so SM please just give them budget and good producers.

Anyway this probably means sperm is truly dead buried 100 m underground and I'm so happy finally we are free!!! Also seeing reveluvs acting like exols over this plus aespa stans( mys is a dumb fandom name I won't acknowledge it) also being mad because the exclusion of NingNing and Giselle has been fun, I've already seen fights and that kind of fandom drama is entertaining when I don't care about any of the people involved

I’m confused by a lot of the comments that are upset that fx wasn’t included. none of the fx members are signed with sm anymore so there was never a possibility of that happening. they’re not really excluding them… they literally disbanded because all of the members left sm.

i never expected them to actually go ahead with female superm so this is exciting. i think it's a solid lineup - seems more dance focused but it's a good balance i guess? irene would've been here if not for her scandal and i agree that it feels empty without f(x), if krystal was in here it would've been perfect for me. ningning is the most obvious snub, she would've fit perfectly with taeyeon and boa i feel, but as an aespa fan i can't pick between karina or winter, i feel that both of them are also good fits - karina's the center and winter is a strong vocal idk.

also i really like the styling, everyone looks stunning - wendy's jagged emo-ish hair is a surprisingly good fit for her and hyoyeon's pink hair is gorgeous. idk how to describe the outfits much but i really like the chains with the dark warm tones. i hope it isn't an aespa cast off but that's what i'm expecting going in - hoping it's something more melodic though, save the weird wonky electronic stuff for aespa and give this group a more solid structure

Honestly I'm freaking out lmao. I had lost hope that SM would do a female version of SuperM - we all know how kpop companies care a lot more for men than wilen - so this is super surprising to me right now. I probably won't like the music but like I care about that to be honest XD

Taeyeon omg ;__; She's slowly getting more into the idol side of promotions after taking a long break from it, as she promoted Weekend on music shows, but it's still pretty surprising to see her join. I guess the promos won't be too extensive. Also she's SM's most hyped female vocalist at the moment and one of the few Soshi members under SM still more into music than acting, with Hyo, and they're both here lol.
I wish f(x) were still active as a group :( Luna in this line-up would have killed it. But I'm even more glad that the members are out of SM so yeah...
Yeri is my bias so I would swap Wendy with her if I could (especially with BoA, Taeyeon, Seulgi, Winter being all solid vocalists in their own rights already) but that's just my bias and Wendy being here makes a lot of sense. Pre-scandal, I bet SM would have put Irene in but I guess they're still making her lay low, Yeri isn't the most popular member, and Joy is leaning more into acting anyway.
I would have loved for NingNing to be in the line-up but I understand SM pushing Karina and Winter instead, Karina is their hyped member and actually a good all-rounder, while Winter attracted fans to aespa and she's a good vocalist!
