Plot: A story about a failed idol group's last journey and their desperate attempts to prevent disbandment. Cotton Candy only needs a one time hit to save their group, but it's not as easy as it sounds. Everything is going wrong for Cotton Candy, but the members can't let go of their friendship and dreams.

im interested in the story and i dont mind all the downs but the pacing is unbearable! its a movie every episode lol

i don't know if it helps at all but after the first few episodes the run time is around an hour instead of an hour and a half-ish! i was pretty invested in the group at that point and also skimmed through some of the bg scenes oop. the pacing improves to the point of resolving the problem within the episode to push the plot forward and move on to their next obstacle

episode 9 thoughts:
- the elle reunion didn't hit as hard because the preview spoiled it and i was way more concerned with the stolen song. i'm glad she's back though just didn't need all the crying over it again lol
- WE RISE is a bop!! jenna's songs are good
- i feel for jihan because clearly he's gonna have to make a choice, but hadn't he heard the melody of jenna's song already?? so shouldn't he know that his song kinda sounds like it?
- director yoon was frustrating at the end, why protect bbiyong what's the point? obviously ceo cha had figured it out at that point.
- i know this show isn't about lovelines but jenna/ceo is the only one i would be interested in and she was hurt by him not even trying to find the truth at first aaaahh
- bbiyong is obviously a jerk but i feel like his aggression towards jenna is getting scarier

future speculation:
- reporter mo isn't done fucking things up for them right? i feel like his photos have to come back in play at some point?
- stella's mental health, i just want her to be ok and they haven't really addressed since the pills/ray incident
- i don't think jihan/jenna can be a thing even though they obviously have a connection just due to his life rn? like calla or even RAY would be ok with that, especially with her. calla is a horrible (fake) fandom

bless op bc i was gonna burst waiting for this post lmao. the whole time i was like WHY CAN'T JENNA JUST FUCKING PULL UP THE OLD EMAIL!!! HOW WAS THAT NEVER AN OPTION I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING AT MY COMPUTER LMAO. is everyone suddenly dizzy? did they never think to pull up CEO Ma emails sooner? HELL they should have creeped into generic dragon's goofy ass emails and found that he received it from Director Yoon or something? GOD i was splitting hairs the whole time.

Stella is my bias rn and i was hoping her and ray would have a moment! they are so stunning together i wanted them to talk about their mental health and how they are besties with the most frustrating people in the world lmao. i feel like i'm the only person who doesn't really see it for jenna and ceo? everyone keeps bringing up that elevator scene but the only thing that gave me 👀 was him writing the meeting note on her hand? is was so shoujo manga it tickled me lol.

I'm glad elle came back but i wanted her to fight along jenna bc she just sways and scrowls in the background like always. exy is my fav wjsn member so i'm kinda a bit bummed by her limited acting. I'm loving hyunji now that shes a bit toned down lol. chae-a is kinda whatever but she's better these last few eps

also the killA and highteen songs sound like itzy rip offs but that doesn't stop me from boppin lmao

For the email situation I just assumed they only knew that Jenna sent the song to ceo ma, but not that ceo ma sent the song to bbiyong and that they didn’t have hr/it dept to help with that? Idk I guess they needed ceo cha’s dramatic questioning of director upon to end the episode

Stella is an angel and I just hope everything works out for her. Did they ever address the weird situation where she thought someone was following her outside the dorm? I think ray is cute and is the only one from mars that has an actual personality so I could definitely see that

I do love Jenna/ceo cha but mostly due to actor chemistry and also because the alternative is Jenna/Jihan which I don’t see at all. He’s so cute but so young looking that it’s kinda off putting. His acting this past episode was also not great like to express anger/pain he was widening/bulging his eyes a lot and it was distracting Mans should stick to looking pretty and pensive, staring into the distance.

I agree that Exy is kinda stiff in the role, lots of scowling. I’m liking Hyunji more now that she’s drinking less and directing her fire/passion in more productive ways. She and chae ah play off each other well and I appreciate their cute funny moments.

oooooh see that makes sense then. I was too busy making jihan bugged eye rage face at the situation that i might have missed that. but then again, the whole fight with her and ceo was that he couldn't report dollar general dragon because he didn't have evidence? so that lead me to believe everyone forgot she sent the email?

i do agree since hani is an adult and jihan loooks and is a kid lol their romance would look very awkward. like if they got together i would image a romantic high five at the end or something lol. the only reason i can't ship jenna/ceo is because i still don't know her age in the show? i assume she's around 24-26 but she looks 23 without makeup and i'm sure he's in his mid 30's tops so that gives me bit of pause. not that it hasn't been done in kdramas but i'm still not sold on the romance...unless he does something very sweeping in the last 3 eps i'll def climb aboard their ship!!

also was it stella that fainted a couple eps back? was that why she started taking meds? i have a tin foil theory that ray is following her maybe bc he saw her at the hospital when and wanted to check up on her~ and also figure out why jihan is so obsessed with cotton candy that but ended up being a guardian of her? i feel like there's something there with them that they show wont cover bc

we got better problems here lol thanks to the kdrama subreddit for that pic lol

i hope we get more evil itzy i liked their songs! also i hope the boy group gets a better song bc cloud 9 is okay. i wanna see more of the other members even tho i don't care about them lol i did fast forward their dance practice oops hahha

i haven't thought about ceo/jenna age difference, not that i think it matters anymore as i'm guessing everything ends platonically. i feel like i read somewhere the she is supposed to be 26?? on the show (and so is minkyu's character??? makes no sense so maybe i read it wrong) but you're right that she looks a lot younger especially with the more minimal makeup look. i like the enemies to lovers trope in fiction but sadly i don't think the show will take advantage of their chemistry/tension.

ok in episode 10 i guess they are explaining the stella thing as her having an old man stalker??? i'm already dreading her breakdown i won't be ok and i hope the girls won't be so busy with their song that they don't notice that she's spiraling

cloud 9 really grew on me! i like the choreo for that song, tbh i've liked all the choreos on the show and props to han so eun and the mars actor(s?) who aren't idols for doing so well with it

I'm so slow, I've only finished ep4 thanks to iqiyi. but damn at the drama happening every episode. Solbin's character tears my heart and I hope things pick up for them. also skipping anything with Mars oops, the potential love story between Hani and the guy is not believable?

the first few episodes are very melodramatic, i guess to make us feel that the group had truly hit rock bottom. so i do feel the desperation of their last chance but it was hard to watch at times!

tbh solbin's character was annoying me so much before i realized she was using alcohol to cope, i loved seeing her put her fire and passion toward the group once things got going <3 she and hani shared some really tough scenes together and they did so good!

mars is kind of boring :X and so far the "romances" have been very subtle and there's only 2 episodes left. it's possible no love lines on the show?

oh so Nooooooow i'm getting the ceo/jenna ship. boy's voice wobbled when he said he could'nt be there to protect her and i was like OH I GET IT lol. yeah i hope they end up together dude nearly lost it when bbiyong said they were dating lol

everyone is killing it! director yoon is a nervous wreck and is played so well lol he needs a vacation and a reward!

JENNA omg. i'm not sure i understood the really light tone they took at the end of ep 10 when she gave up the song too? i felt like the ceo in that situation lol, it was a little exasperating after everything that happened. jenna got the vindication but now we won't see a we rise performance!!

stella must be protected at all costs!!! really hoping that storyline is wrapped up next episode so she doesn't have to suffer up till the last episode :( i'm just wondering if it's a stalkery fan? and hoping it's not an abusive situation :(

with ceo/jenna i'm wondering if the reporter's photos come back into play somehow? bbiyong brought up if something was happening between them repeatedly and the bridge kiss didn't seem to have any consequences. but yeah that phone call scene was the only crumb for the ship and with the brothers reconciling i don't know if there's gonna be loveline with either

also does no one else know that they're brothers besides the aunt??

Omg I had to pause and walk out of my room when she said they weren’t doing the song hahah. She’s really putting everyone in the ringer lol. She didn’t even try to make the song a duo between them instead or at least give him producing credits! That would make more sense than dropping the song entirely

I hope Stella gets a fair chance at support and love bc she’s really holding down the girls while Jenna is doing the hard fight with the ceo. Also if her and ray don’t interact I will scream I want them to talk!! He needs his own storyline too

bb dragon isn’t gonna go without a fight so I have a feeling when the song drops the picture will come out as well. I have a feeling that when the pic comes out ceo will do the whole kdrama “I love this woman” conference cliche lol

do have a complaint! this is not towards hani she is doing a great job! it's to the writers like why jenna has to BE everything!!! she still can have the most screen time but I want to see them more developed, hyunji actresses looks so much like hyeri.

the rest of the episodes aren't as melodramatic as 1-4!! definitely some teary moments but nothing quite as heavy so hopefully less teary mess

hyunji's actress is solbin from laboum!! she definitely looks like hyeri hehe

yeah jenna is the main character, but the other characters do get some development (some more than others i would say for sure)
