EVERGLOW - 'Pirate' M/V Behind + outfit plagiarism summary

This is a basic bts video compared to their other ones, but it does feature a cute moment of EU pretending she's the tallest member and Sihyeon playing hide-and-seek with the camera at the end.

Essentially, Chinese designer windowsen (Sensen Lii) is accusing Everglow (and thus Yuehua stylists) of having plagiarised a corset they made custom for Jolin Tsai's 'Ugly Beauty' Tour in 2020. What fans are theorising has happened is that a Yuehua stylist bought the item off of taobao, unaware that the item was plagiarsed. I think this theory exists because the Everglow corset is of such obviously different quality to the original, lol. Notably, the corset doesn't appear in any of the shots in the behind the scenes video above.

That's unfortunate. I wonder if they'll have to offer compensation to the original designer?

But also, it seems like 'idol stylists' are sometimes very untrained — throwing entire designer collections on a group (or recreations) or resorting to very basic outfits (uniforms etc)

Or not ensuring the fit of outfits are tailored to the performer's body type.

I can see how they might not have known just ordering the counterfeit version, but now that they know they need to give credit to the original designer.
