With a minimum promo of 3 days & their biggest Korean fanbase being accused of embezzeling fund collected since their Kingdom appearance (translated twt thread by user todayisdawon here/Korean reporting by TopStarNews), SF9 still managed to snag first place on Music Bank today - their fifth win! SF9 did not appear on music shows this week, but they did do a VLive to celebrate.

Congrats boissss!!! But 3 days promos is my trauma T.T I understand that some of them are really buisy, but at least let Taeyang and Jaeyoon feel themselves on stage ;__; I read a bit about the embezzement thingy and damn why do people give their money away for this things to begin with?

The funds were going to be used to buy streaming passes for Melon, Genie, and Bugs, as well as make more accounts since it would help raise their digital score which heavily relies on charting high in the 3 I mentioned and needs Korean numbers for verification. Korean fans usually donate if they don't have time to stream, then the accounts would be rented out to fans who volunteer to stream through the fanbase. With today's streaming culture, I guess fandoms are pushed to do this to give their faves a fighting chance on music shows. (I hate it)

They all seemed so giddy and happy about it, and apparently they mentioned on the VLIVE how much they wanted to go to their manager and kept asking to go even if they weren't complete, even promote longer, but FNC remains shitty :/

The embezzlement scandal is still so shocking after seeing the numbers and the fact that they've been doing this since Kingdom... Makes me wonder how the results would have changed. SF9 wouldn't have been last at least They would've won a few times with TearDrop that's for sure.

i actually watched midnight idol this morning and their vibe with monsta x is really cute! i didn't know kihyun and inseong were friends but he seems to know him veeeeery well the way he impersonates him lol

where can we watch chani's webdrama? it looked cute. i've started dawon's part time melo and so far it's really fun, out of all the sf9 webdramas i've seen it's the best produced and best acted (but i haven't seen chani's)

i also hope they'll get to promote more as a group if fnc lets them :(

I'll just miss them more tbh. It feels odd thinking about them enlisting, but then again they have been a group for 5 years now and they reached their moment of success a bit later than the kpop timeline likes? (I actually thought about this a lot the other day, how non-big 3 bgs who debuted in 2016 had to wait a long time before finally seeing some success considering their crucial early years were exo's peak, rise of bts, also wanna one's phenomenon in sk)

I know! It's frustrating because a lot of the webdramas are put on region-locked streaming sites, and non-fans aren't going to put energy in searching for it. For example, apparently Youngbin's Bubble Up is only on VIU Thailand so far?

It cracks me up how some of Jiwoon's scenes are Rowoon basically being himself dffdl the footage of him from the offline fansigns are so dear to me.
