really like some of the styling in this video, the white outfit she's wearing in the first scenes of the video is cute. the song is ok for me, a bit forgettable, but i'm also not super into this genre of songs
from the teasers i was expecting an edgier sound or something new from her which this isn’t but i still really love it, it’s not her most memorable/catchy song so when i stop listening to it i struggle to remember how it goes lol but when it’s on i really enjoy it. this is one of her more interesting mvs too i am pleasantly surprised!
Oh I like this! It's not her best song but it's already way better than Bycicle lol. The chorus is catchy and nice, I wish it had a better bridge/outro but still, I'm enjoying it. I really liked the MV. I think it's evocative but vague enough for different people to put different meanings/theories on it
I think you’re right about the MV. I’d like to watch it a couple more times to see what I can make of the dolls getting smaller throughout. Idk why but it make me quite emotional.
My own personal guess would be that the dolls can represent mental health, as things are deteriorating every time she "looses" one layer (kinda like the spoon theory), but if we follow this idea, the reasons why she's not doing well in the MV are really vague. We only see happy shots of her with friends and her lightning up a birthday candle to celebrate by herself, never what went wrong (are these memories or triggers? or what she was expecting her day to go like except she's alone?). But that's a very personal interpretation :)
I thought similarly that the dolls were a representation of mental health. I got from that she’s losing parts of herself and has less and less of herself left as she kind of goes through pretending to be happy with her friends — maybe the birthdays representing time & her dealing with issues for a long time. But like you say, it’s very open to interpretation, which is quite nice as I suppose a lot of people can relate in their own way. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Kpop mv like this which is cool.
