FNC Entertainment Clarifies SF9’s Rowoon’s Comments About His Vaccination Status

FNC Entertainment released a statement clarifying SF9’s Rowoon’s comments about his vaccination status.

On November 25, Rowoon was participating in an online video call fan sign event. When asked about his vaccination status, he had replied, “I haven’t had time, so I haven’t gotten vaccinated yet. I heard that when you get the vaccine, you have to rest for a few days. I’ve been getting PCR tests every two days.”

This sparked criticism online as Rowoon is currently active in multiple fields of the entertainment industry, where COVID-19 cases continue to be an issue, including promoting on music shows with SF9 for their comeback with “Trauma” and acting in the KBS drama “The King’s Affection.”

On November 26, FNC Entertainment released the following statement:

"This is our statement on Rowoon’s comments about vaccination during his online video call fan sign event for SF9 ROWOON’S PHOTO ESSAY [ME, ANOTHER ME].

Rowoon had already set up an appointment for vaccination, but because his drama broadcast schedule could not be adjusted, he had not yet been able to get vaccinated. We are currently in the middle of adjusting his work schedule so that he can get vaccinated and he will complete his vaccination as soon as possible.

We hope that there will be no misunderstanding from the select extraction of comments without context from the fan sign event and ask that people refrain from malicious comments.

We regret that this precious time between Rowoon and the fans who love him was degenerated like this, and we apologize for causing concern to those who cherish Rowoon. In future, we will continue to do our best to protect our artists.

Thank you."

This was about to happen with all these schedules they have to attend. They should go back and reduce live shows/variety shows to a minimum.
On another note I'm glad that many of them are fully vaccinated. Hopefully it influences unvaxxed fans to also get the vaccine

No but. I distinctly remember FNC issuing a statement either before or during the period Dawon and Hwiyoung were recovering that all members were vaccinated, so this is nagl 😬 You'd think that with 2 of them getting sick, half the group in quarantine, and The Kings Affection halting filming once due to an extra testing positive, and Youngbin's slight mess would be enough for FNC to work out schedules. They're so terrible at following regulations too, they've had 3 incidents in 2 months where staff tested positive, which led to 3 different groups under them either going into quarantine or catching the virus.

Hopefully they give him enough time off to get the vaccine and recover because he's going to be even busier in the coming months with filming and he'll also be MC-ing the KBS Music Festival. Not doing so is not only putting his health at risk, but the health of others too.

Ngl I'm a bit relieved he was honest in the call because it blew up on k-twitter to the point that FNC was forced to make a statement because god forbid they try listening to fans outside Korea

fnc remains a mess with covid & vaccination of their artists, but this statement about rowoon really takes the cake. to not even being willing to create enough rest time for him to get vaccinated and recover? his schedules are super packed so he's in contact with so many people — it's not only irresponsible to him as the artist fnc manages but also to everyone who works with him. fnc truly thinks of their artists as plain money makers in the most short-term way possible

erm FNC that's not a good move at all, like obviously vaccinating your artistes are pretty important I believe whatever schedules can wait a few days. it's not fair to everyone if an artiste walks around maskless and unvaccinated? also not like there aren't enough vaccines, terrible terrible move. can't believe 2 covid related issues have popped up and there's still no follow up (discounting the recent staff contracting)

wow, fuck fnc? especially when 2 of their members have already tested positive, they couldn't spare even an hour for him to go?

Yeah this was nagl for FNC but also Rowoon himself tbh, it doesn't sound like he took his vaccination status seriously. Dude, being so busy that you have to keep coming into regular contact with tons of people in different places is... not exactly a great defense for not being vaxxed
