Plot: Set in the 18th century, "Red Sleeve" depicts a love story between King Jeongjo and royal concubine Uibin Sung.

Sung Deok-Im (Lee Seyoung) is a court lady. She gets involved with Crown Prince Yi San (Lee Junho) and he falls in love with her. The crown prince eventually becomes King Jeongjo. He now desires Sung Deok-Im to become his concubine, but she refuses. Sung Deok-Im wants to live her life freely, something that will not be possible as a concubine. She also knows that life of a royal concubine does not generally bring about happiness. Yet, Sung Deok-Im becomes the concubine of King Jeongjo.

I am loving this drama. I love the LeeLee chemistry. I can watch them for hours. The cinematography is so beautiful. I'm loving it.

Episode 3
- This wonderfully brave and smart woman, I love that Deok-im has her group of friends who can support her
- If the synopsis of that book isn’t foreshadowing…
- Lee Junho looks so good
- Uh, Hong Deok-ro is a dick… wanting to wait for more people to die? Bruv.
- All these ministers are such assholes
- ALL THE WEBS… so many webs
- An adopted son… interesting
- This push and pull between San and his grandfather is stressful
- Girlfriend pulling an all-nighter to save her prince… I love this
- Your regularly scheduled, “PRETTY HANBOKS” comment
- It seems like everyone except the bad princess and her crew (his sisters and the queen) like and care for San, it makes me happy
- The King is so adorable in his glasses. Lee Deokhwa is so cute.
- I wonder if they’ll ever touch on the fact that they’ve met before
- The switch from sweet to scary is… wow
- My brave, brave girl. I love her so much
- And immediately he’s back to being a sweet grandpa again
- This is an interesting set up… not me thinking they were going to burn him
- Here comes scary grandpa
- Annnnd back comes the sweet grandpa… this drama gives me emotional whiplash
- Well, this is sus.
- San is so smitten. I love that they independently think about each other.
- LOL immediately goes to the library
- Love and appreciate that Deok-im is friends with the San’s sisters
- LOL his reaction when he realizes who she is… AND HIS PEOPLE LMAO… the fan
- AHHH the reveal. I thought it would have been in the library.

- LOL his guard is hilarious
- This is so awkward
- Oh, she’s piiiiiiiiiissssed

- I love them. The bickering is top notch.

its definitely on the to watch list, i long seyoung as well as junho, but i was planning to binge it after it finishes but i might push it up my watching schedule if i have time 🤔

ok i started watching this already because i couldn't stop myself!! i watched until ep 3 but i just wanted to come here and SCREAM about the cgi in this show!!! i could handle and understand the cgi tiger but the high school musical 2 reflection of san and deokim in the palace pond at the end of episode 3???? lmaoooo


for the rest i really love the drama so far, i was right from the beginning not to trust the prince's best friend but the other palace officials it's not really clear to me yet. i have some mixed feelings about deokim's dedication to being a court lady and in particular to the men in her life (her brother; the prince) but for the rest i love her character and the interactions between her and the rest of the court ladies (this was the main reason why i wanted to watch the show). the way the show is filmed is also really pretty! the way they show deokim running around the palace reminds me of an analysis i've seen of british period dramas like pride and prejudice where they wanted to represent the agency of the female lead through her running around a lot
