Date: 2021-11-20 05:44 pm (UTC)if it wasnt only 6 episodes at less than an hour each i wouldnt have finished it and even then i watched it on x1.5 speed and kept skipping too from mid ep 4 onwards. i've seen loads of people really enjoy it so maybe its just me but the cult storyline was just so obvious and felt like it had been done before and better and it was really slow paced for something only 6 episodes long so overall i was disappointed lol.
the cgi and the monsters were so bad too, they really look like villain monsters in a budget kids film but then theyre really violently beating people up and the contrast just kept making me laugh? i wanted something scary and this wasn't at all 😔
it also basically ends without explaining anything which after 6 hours of watching something i wasn't that interested in just to see how it finishes was really annoying!!! the sacrifice of the parents to save their child was nice i guess but not explained at all as to why that happened the way it did and i irrationally hate seeing people they loved this drama because they didnt get it because it was so "complex". it wasnt complex it was just written badly and didnt explain anything. and then the woman who was 'sent to hell' comes back and the series finishes? so we have to presumably wait for a series 2 before they even try to explain whats happening? i will not be watching!
to try and find positive things the acting was okay? yoo ah in definitely has the vibe of a cult leader and did well but maybe thats because he creeps me out anyway (not based on anything just vibes lol) and the pd actor i thought was good in the second arc

Date: 2021-11-20 06:26 pm (UTC)I prefered Park Jung Min's performance
I hate how they didn't give any answer at all. They're expecting us to wait for a second season but I'm not sure I'll be there for it unless we're absolutely sure there wouldn't be a 3rd season and we'd get a real ending.

Date: 2021-11-20 06:20 pm (UTC)The first 3 episodes pissed me off to not end, I almost gave up until I saw Park Jung Min's character and his obvious despise of New Truth. I wouldn't have survived 6 episodes of such religious fanaticism :s
I'm surprised though that at no point did they think that maybe those creatures weren't sent by God but by the Devil. I'm not religious at all and maybe I watched too many episodes of Supernatural but I thought that the Devil is in charge of Hell, so...
Anyway I'm confused by the very end and I don't like it.
Another drama that tries to be smarter and more complex than it really is.
Oh and what the hell happened to the budget Netflix?! Seriously the CGI was so bad I had to laugh at some point (especially the baby)
Has anyone read the webtoon? I wonder if it actually offers answers.

Date: 2021-11-22 12:42 am (UTC)it's interesting bc before it even came out critics were talking about how great it was (since they got to preview it lol) but honestly at this point i assume they're being paid to prop things up anyway. it just wasn't even remotely compelling of a watch. i ended up ditching it for inspector koo and i'm glad i did

Date: 2021-11-22 10:06 am (UTC)does inspector koo get better after episode 1? i thought the first ep really dragged so i dropped it but i have seen other people saying theyre enjoying it so i maybe want to give it another shot
