I think I like Aespa's, NCT dream's and NCT 127's the best. They should have given SHINee a fun concept that matched the colorful vibes of the Atlantis and Superstar mvs.

i love the color palette of the nct dream one, that green and purple! if i were to buy one of these it’d probably be the red velvet one tho, i didn’t care for the queens gambit but the concept suits them. i’m not buying any of this shit this year tho, i bought the blackpink one last year deluding myself into believing it’d be a way to organize my life and i haven’t used any of it lmfao.

i'm surprised too that they didn't include him. last year, chanyeol and irene had scandal in oct/nov and they were still included on season's greetings. it's not as severe as lucas' but still. i'm guessing since lucas is not korean so sm can dispose him easier than if he was korean?

Afaik both Irene and Chanyeol Chinese bars were still active and big (esp CY that is huge) whereas even Lucas Chinese fan base closed, if Chinese fans leave you you are done lol

i’ve seen ppl on reddit speculating there might be some complications with ending his various contracts that are delaying a formal announcement that he’s been booted. i really hope it’s that and not that they’re hoping to sneak him back in bc idk what i’ll do if that happens lmfao.

but yeah him being left out of all the year end merch (i think there was some early nct 2021 stuff that he was also excluded from?) makes me think he’s done. the wayv members were posting pics together shortly after his scandal in a way that felt pointed to me too but maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part lmao

yeah, you are right and with Irene she apologized and the stylist left it at that and said it was ok and with Chanyeol the og post got deleted and nothing more came out of it (so there was enough doubt for his fans to say it wasn't true and then with the moves SM did the scandal didn't become nothing bigger) but with Lucas a lot of evidence and more and more allegations came out so it's almost impossible to try to do fix anything there, and lol the dozen jokes with him were true, NCT as a big unit has enough of filler members so it's not like they are going to suffer talent wise (even if i don't like their music they have strong vocalists but they are just too many so they don't shine, like Taeil)

Also he is chinese and that xenophobic company wasn't going to lift a finger for him more than they should to

Edit: Also talking about the MAMAs, like Baekhyun, Taeyeon and Rosé over Taemin and Kai? and at least Kai got best male solo but Taemin got nothing?? Bambi didn't even have a live performance lol, and the other 2 songs aren't dance heavy so?? if things were fair HyunA is winning because she is the one that best fits the category.

Me too. I wouldn't miss him at all. I would be glad for WayV to be able to shine without him. He takes up too much attention. Let YangYang and Hendery rap more, they actually have some talent in it, unlike Lucas who they tried to make talented just because he's "attractive" (I never saw it, but I saw the narcissism from a mile away). Also, as always, MORE LINES FOR WINWIN.

the performances of kickback wayv did without him earlier in the year proved they don’t need lucas, his absence wasn’t noticeable at all. that said if wayv does try to continue without him the hit their sales take will probably be noticeable, idk. i guess we’ll see how this all shakes out 😭 i just hope the other wayv members aren’t screwed over too badly

Yeah, I feel bad for them for multiple reasons: that pretty much all of the attention to bring in eyes and money was put on Lucas (and maybe Ten too, and Winwin marginally), so that when he was promoting in the group the others didn't get as much attention, and also that without him, because they insisted upon him so much, they will probably struggle. That's the problem with making only one or two members in a group the 'popular' ones that bring in fans. But really, why did they push Lucas on us so hard? Makes no sense. If it's for height and looks? Winwin. Rap talent? YangYang and Hendery. Amazing vocals? Xiaojun and Kun. Dance (and vocals!)? Ten will scalp you. There's really nothing Lucas adds that other members don't have. So they don't deserve to struggle, but they probably will. :/

i really liked nct 127's concept the best, but i also liked dream's and red velvet's. unpopular opinion but shinee's one is very boring and colorless as much as exo's, they barely put any effort into their sg's lol maybe the members were too busy to care.

i've never bought a season greetings (i'm a new kpop fan in general) so i'm tempted to buy one but i still can't decide which one. exo's one was dissapointing so i'm waiting for twice to release theirs but they are taking their time lol (maybe bc the album release), i hope is as good as last year's owo

Exo's concept is them being handsome,lol but being serious I actually don't mind that much the design of the SG if it had actual execution?? They look gorgeous and I like the blue and it looks elegant but it's so boring and uninspiring, I like the shinee one though but I also think it's because all but especially Minho and Taemin look great lol, but I agree that the best one is red velvet's

el concepto de exo me recordó a los comerciales de perfumes con actores tíos, a lo antonio banderas jaja me imagino que como no están completos a sm no les importo hacer mucho esfuerzo, además de que todos están haciendo lo suyo (sehun y kyungsoo grabando, kai con su mini y lo que sea que esté haciendo minseok en estos momentos). del de shinee me gustó que taemin esté con su look de advice... creo que los mejores son el de rv y nct 127

Jajajja, es la mejor manera de describirlo, si es como eso o como un comercial de relojes lol, también creo eso, la verdad es que desde DFTF se ve que han estado ocupados con sus vainas y pues bien por ellos pero quiero música y cosas mejores, Minseok está con su musical y con shows de variedades, aunque la verdad me gusta que a pesar de que no estén haciendo muchas cosas como grupo si tengan actividades como solistas.

Taemin se ve genial, el de RV es un buen concepto a pesar de que ellas no me importen (meu resentida que soy lol) y el de 127 se ve original.

exo theme is rich handsome men lmao. i gave sm the benefit of the doubt when i saw the first teaser but when the full preview came out few ago i thought lol why did i expect so much from sm. they never do much for exo.

I miiiiight get the Soshi one, the styling reminds me of a crossover between their First Japanese album and Lionheart, they're stunning, and the colour scheme is soft and pretty. Also I'm biased. But I'm sad we aren't seeing any group picture :(

But Aespa's concept might be my favourite out of all these, it's a little wacky at times (at least the folded poster calendar set is lmao) but really colorful and fun!

Yes! Honestly if I were more into Aespa's music, I would switch to them just for the aesthetics. Though the outfit styling isn't too far off from usual sm gg calendars, the colours/designs work well with the group's concept and make it more striking. It totally fits them!
But I can't give up my lone yearly SNSD merch lmao

Yes but at least they're not doing individual season greetings, this would be even more of a cash grab ;__; it pained me the first year I had to pick, in the end I took Oh!GG and didn't buy Seohyun's (I love her but hers was quite pricey for super minimalistic aesthetics, no thank you).

If I remember well, they had to insist on having a subunit name (and picking one that referenced Girls' Generation on top of that) as they didn't want simply using the group's name with the 4 of them. Pretty sure SM disagreed at first. So I don't mind the compromise, Oh!GG is just a placeholder for them to release stuff as four (and yeah at the moment it's just season greetings... how I wish I could get another single... or even one performance... alas) and keep the brand alive (plus the occasional Instagram lives and shout-outs with the other 4).

Yes. individual greetings would be evil. That said, does SM have non-group soloist anymore? BoA? Kangta? Henry? Why are they not included in the season greetings? I am the worst at keeping up with people leaving companies and switching.


I wish they would release a new single. Honestly, Lil' Touch was great. I could do with a mini...

I would love a mini too, they don't even have to promote it much (or do more variety than performances to go easy on Sunny's knees and not move their schedule too much) and I would eat it up.
But I wonder if they're just... not doing anything as a subunit because they would rather have a group release and focus on their solo careers meanwhile. But that's such an heavy work to have all 8 line up for recordings and promotions, especially when SM themselves are petty assholes, that nothing is happening.

They could pull a debut 2NE1 and only do one live a week and fans would go wild. They could just walk and forth across the stage and still get first place.

They could do like Weekly idol and maybe sketchbook and that's it if they wanted. I mean, it's not like people don't know who they are like nugu groups. they don't need to sell themselves, just let people know they have a new song out.
