Date: 2021-10-16 02:35 pm (UTC)I like revenge plots alot personally and Jiwoo is a great character for me. She cries AND fights in equal measures. She's a messy woman and I am on board with that. Episode 1 was beautifully acted between, not just the scenes at school but everything between Han Sohee and Yoon Gyungho too. She gets points for this one. I was expecting alot of chemistry with Ahn Bohyun, but there has been surprisingly little? Like none? Perhaps its because I don't really see much affection or romance between their characters so far. His character is actually a little annoying imo lol. As far as the guys go, Park Heesoon and Lee Hakjoo showing up like male models everywhere they go has been really satisfying.
Did anyone else already finish it? What did you think? I'm pretty sure the plot will get some twist soon enough — I expect the murder of Jiwoo's father isn't as simple as we think — and I hope they're the good kind!

Date: 2021-10-16 04:49 pm (UTC)some of han so hees acting i thought was a bit too much when she was playing the teenage version of her character in ep 1/2 but in general she was pretty good! especially in the later episodes. i did worry when i started watching that the whole thing was supposed to be based when she was a teen because that was really asking me to suspend my disbelief lol both in regards to a 17 y/o beating up experienced gang members and her looking 17 when shes clearly in her 20s but thankfully i was wrong and the time jumped forward lol.
the fight scenes were also filmed really well with the actors doing a lot of shots themselves.
the "twist" that her dads killer was choi mu-jin was soooo obvious to me from like episode 2 that i'm not sure it even counts as a twist because i can't be the only person who saw it coming from pretty early on but it was still engaging to watch her realise and go through it emotionally.
also park hee soon has never looked attractive to me before but in this specific role...i felt something...and then i see what he looks like normally and the attraction dies lmao
i'm not that into ahn bo hyun's acting normally but i think it suited his character sort of being dumbly trusting like if girl wasn't so beautiful there was no way anyone was giving her the benefit of the doubt he did she was obviously shady!
i think i watch too many dark dramas these days and have ruined my ability to enjoy normal romance because things like hometown cha cha cha haven't really been doing much for me feelings wise but when he handcuffed himself to her and took her to the beach so she couldnt take revenge i was like damn thats some real romance right there
and i really did believe they were going down the route of taking the higher road and not becoming a monster, living a happy live is the best revenge type story and was thinking it was a little disappointing but i would accept it and then he got shot in the head!!!! and she went on that murder spree which is what i originally wanted and suddenly i was like noooo i was wrong let them have a happy ending lol but that was at least something i wasnt expecting (but maybe would have if i'd seen how long was left of the ep lol) so at least there was some kind of twist for me even if it was a bad one it was still entertaining for shock value alone

Date: 2021-10-17 10:34 am (UTC)they shut down that happy ending so quick lol, with the camera angles there was half a second i was like oh maybe he like moved a bit in time and hes only like super seriously injured then they zoomed in on his forehead it was like nevermind!!!
i think i would have liked the happy ending too but would have also maybe found it a bit anti climactic so considering it was a pretty standard revenge drama i was happy enough that they went the more shocking route.

Date: 2021-10-16 09:18 pm (UTC)the acting is decent from the majority of the cast, its entertaining and relatively a quick watch for a drama, only 8 eps and most are closer to 45 mins than an hour

Date: 2021-10-17 10:40 am (UTC)romance dramas really need to stop doing this, especially the flashbacks, and tighten up their editing because episodes are getting so long now, regularly an hour and 15-30 minutes, and when theyre already such a time commitment to watch its sooo annoying to watch the same scenes over and over. i know theyve always been filmed this way but it annoyed me less when the episodes were shorter, all those extra half an hours add up over 16 episodes!

Date: 2021-10-17 05:21 pm (UTC)It was predictable and honestly we all knew who the real killer was but it was entertaining.
The actors were pretty good especially Park Hee-Soon, he was a scene stealer to me and so damn hot!! Han So-Hee's acting was nice too, I could feel her involvement in her character. Too bad there wasn't much chemistry between her and Ahn Bo-Hyun (who is quite fine by the way, I thank the director and writer for giving us a bare chest scene).
I love that Netlfix dramas don't have all those PPLs and don't hesitate to show violence and sex (even though it was short and kind of "out of the blue" the scene immediately made me think 'yep that's definitely a Netflix show' lol).
I can't wait for their next kdrama.
Oh and everyone should be warned that it's really violent and graphic at times.

Date: 2021-10-19 07:06 pm (UTC)I think the addition of the romance was unnecessary but I saw it coming and figured that was the twist but I still wanted to root for the 'wrong team' all the same looooool like pls give me something truly revolutionary.
I didn't expect it to be that violent and bloody ngl. I was scared we weren't gonna get that rampage at the end, I was expecting more but glad we got it anyway lol
