Blackpink is under controversy for immediately switching to a rival company's products.

On the 11th, an article titled "Blackpink are ruthless when contract ends" was posted in an online community. The author shared a photo Jisoo posted on her IG on the 10th with the caption, "Wow, barely changed it. New phone, cute case" as proof that Blackpink are currently using iPhone 13.

As evidence that Blackpink are "ruthless", the author shared selcas Rosé and Jennie posted on their IG showing off their iPhone 13 to their 53 million and more followers.

Netizens also pointed out that Jisoo's words saying "just changed it" could lead to a misunderstanding that Blackpink reluctantly used Samsung Galaxy phone because they were exclusive models.

Netizens shared criticism writing, "In Southeast Asia, low-priced phones sold well after Blackpink modeled the A80" "Shouldn't they have picked a model that used Galaxy phones?" Other netizens argued, "Everyone is free to use the phone they want to use" "their contract already ended a long time ago so why does it matter?"

Meanwhile, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A80 Blackpink Special Edition in Thailand and Malaysia in 2019 to promote the phone in the Southeast Asian market.

sorry OP but I have never seen that video before, so I couldn't get the reference. I think BP have always been using iPhones from way back though, just that they had to cover it up while they were the models. It doesn't help that they were promoting the middle end phones, which might stop them from using it because they need good phones and pretty covers

This is such bullshit, as if they are supposed to be loyal to a certain company just because YG signed them up for it. Their contract was over, so they are allowed to use phones manufactured by other companies. It's literally no big deal and it happens all the time.

It seems that a lot of people are bringing patriotism into it because Samsung is Korean, as if they are forgetting their Korean roots the second they touch an Iphone. I wonder how it would be if one of the BTS members (Or any male idol lbr) started using a different phone brand after an endorsement. Probably something like 'Oppa just needed another phone, the contract was over! Our fluffy marshmallow did nothing wrong' and I fucking hate it.

I do find it interesting that Samsung phones have made a lot of improvements over the years and have some great qualities to them but the grip iPhone has on people just won’t let up, even though the releases don’t really spark as much excitement. I was thinking about getting the 13 eventually but I noticed when it came out the articles promoting were like ‘it’s just alright’ lol! They’re no longer bringing it in innovation but people are still super loyal.

I stick with iPhone mostly because of apps. The apps run smoothly for the most part since app creators cater to them. When I had a Samsung phone in the past, I had to wait for certain apps to come to android or others were a buggy mess. Once I went to iPhone I didn’t have those issues anymore. It’s been years so hopefully app creators prioritize android more, but my experience with my Samsung was so poor at the time it made me hesitant. Which sucks since I’m not happy with Apple either lol.

I've been using android since day 1, Samsung for personal use while my current professional phone is a Hwawei. It's much better! I think Hwawei and the other Chinese brands being major actors, and all using android, made apps consider the android version just as important as the iOS one. Both phones have small differences in the way they run, but I don't suffer from buggy apps the way it did with my older Samsungs.

Lmao this is hilarious. People really thought Black Pink would use middle-line Samsung? 😂 the high-line models are on par with iPhones (some even better when it comes to cameras, etc) and they might haved used them, but the A80 isn't it. Good phone, not a luxury.
