Below I've compiled a short list of music videos featuring K-pop stars that, for some reason or another, love spending time dancing near shipping containers or hanging around heavy machinery:
Girl's Generation - Catch Me If You Can
The one where the girls are looking for their hearts at some kind of mining operation.
CIX - Tesseract
The guys from CIX looking for Sohshi's hearts at the mine.
9Muses - Hurt Locker
RIP to this iconic girl group that understood the power of the shipping container music video.
SISTAR - Shake It
Sistar going all-in with the tropes here, including the ever-present-in-kpop classroom!
Stray Kids - God's Menu
K-pop artists love an excavator moment. I mean, who doesn't!?
Ten - Paint Me Naked
Ten: on a couch, with a football, on a forklift. Because...because!
Everglow - First
Everglow, putting themselves first on a...shipyard? Oil platform? I have no idea where they are.
John Park - Falling
John Park ships HIMSELF. Brilliant.
Got7 - If You Do
One, singular shipping container - abandoned and covered in graffiti. It represents angst. It is profound.
NU'EST - Good Bye Bye
The shipping containers are there but you probably never noticed them before because they're just used as a wall? Idk, this video is absolutely batshit, man. I also thought this song was simply called "Goodbye" for the last 7 years but it's apparently "Good Bye Bye" for some inexplicable reason. The song still slaps though.
Pentagon - Naughty Boy
Frogs, shipping containers, chicken, high-vis jackets. This music video has everything!
I am missing SO MANY, I just know it. Help me out, omona! I feel bamboozled by the fact that Monsta X don't have a video that fits these tropes.

Date: 2021-10-11 12:31 pm (UTC)Hurt Locker is still such a jam. And Idc, I love Catch Me If You Can, music video included. I thought the set design was pretty fun for a video who first would have just been released as part of a concert tour!
I'll try to think of other MVs, I'm sure there are :D

Date: 2021-10-11 09:08 pm (UTC)I remember the settings for Catch Me If You Can and If You Do did distract me from the rest of the video the first few times I watched them. I especially kept wondering why SNSD was trying to find their hearts here of all places.
Hmm, shipping container/heavy machinery videos I remember at the moment:
KARD visits shipping container land in this version of Rumor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ43--ds4eg
GWSN does some classic "posing in front of shipping containers" and also hanging out in the local factory in Bazooka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMj3sLP_azg
Not sure if this one counts, but several settings in Loona's Hi High always gave me that "oil rig" vibe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=846cjX0ZTrk
Hyori drives Big Rigs around with heavy machinery in the background in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cnZrmpk69s
Not very prominent, but Block B appears to be using heavy machinery to hold their sofas(?) in their squatter's commune in Shall We Dance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHglTopVlKQ
And if abandoned industrial side lots where the heavy machinery was long since stolen count, then I would also nominate H.O.T's Warrior Descendent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B031nR4GUF4
And in my search, I found a bunch of videos that I would have sworn had heavy machinery but turned out to just be industrial or abandoned settings with a lot of pipes and debris around: Crush (Weki Meki), Brave Girls (Deepened) Bang Bang Bang (Big Bang), Ringa Linga (Taeyang), Left and Right (Seventeen)
And I keep feeling like I missed a bunch of others (why do I have an image of Ga-in wearing a hard hat in my head??) so I'll probably be thinking about this prompt for a while.
