oh my, what is this show's ability to make me feel emotional. I didn't feel it while watching Sixteen or P101S1, but this show hits differently? damn the editing.

I might be biased, but my fave performance was Fate. I liked the emotion they gave out, and there was this bittersweetness from Yujin, it's as though her CLC experience also was brought out in her comments. I also liked that the girls pointed their feet during the performance, which is something a lot of idols don't do when performing contemporary dances. Also May got so much more screentime this time, her support for Bora and Jiwon was also pretty cute.

the 6 membered groups were really strong, would rank Fate > Missing You > My Sea. My Sea was good, but I guess the killing part was a let down. Shana and Li Yi Man's tones were nice. ChaeHyun looks like a mix of Wendy and Irene lol.

9 membered group I would choose Salute > Ice Cream, but because I didn't like Ice Cream the song itself. Dayeon had a great showing this time, so I think she's safe (but damn is she always unlucky to be in the losing team). Salute was nice seeing Doah and Chiayi reunited, love it when the debuted groups come together again. Cai Bing seems to be getting a bad edit though.

MITM was a great performance, standout among the 3 membered ones definitely. Mashiro's direction was great and damn Jiwon's vocals surprised me, she definitely sounds better than Yuna and Ryujin sadly. Fu Yaning's vocal tone isn't my thing, but she was alright when she wasn't "shouty". She also looks a hell lot like Xuanyi.

All About You team was nice to listen to, but pity the high notes weren't that promising. Our House was fun to watch, and probably the competitor for 1st place, Young Eun shined and it was so cute seeing Shen Xiaoting and Yurina cheering for her throughout. VVS wasn't good, I didn't complete their performance.

3 membered group performance ranking would be MITM > Our House > We Are > All About You > No Excuses > VVS

All About You - I love this song so much. Choi Ye Young, Huang Xing Qiao, Sakurai Miu were soooo good but I think Xing Qiao could've done better. But overall I love their voices specially Ye Young!

I loved the MITM performance. The girls really made it their own. Yaning’s adlibs at the end were 🔥
Voting was so hard, as there were are few girls who seemed to come outta nowhere in the My Sea performance. Move over Mariah, Zi Yin is here.
There is definitely going to be heartbreak next week.

The preview makes me think of P101S1 where they had the girls choose the songs they want and then half of them were told they were out and couldn’t perform. Which is gonna be heartbreaking :(

I watched the episode but not the performance only version

I didn't disagree with the judges choices.

I am not a fan of Mafia in the morning, but it was a solid performance and it was more listenable compared to the original IMO. Is it me or is Fu Ya Ning being given a softer image in recent edits?

My House came out really nice considering all the previews we had of the disastrous disharmony before hand.

Fate was great and so fresh compared to the others, that really put a lot of effort into the choreo, and it wasn't all floaty floaty. Kang Yeseo showing her acting chops, I think she just stayed on the right side of emotion.

I heard lots of lovely voices in My Sea, so if the audiences pick right the debut group should be pretty solid.

I felt like a quite a few of the Chinese contestants were given 'bad edits', but at the same time Cai Bing really did try to claim all the credit, really was a beat behind, and did actually say something like I'm the leader so what I say goes...and it's clear the other members were frustrated with her.

I think for Cai Bing it’s her desperation? For the past few episodes it was clear that she’s pressuring herself a lot. And as an older contestant who probably has her last chance here some things may seem like not a good look, but I get why she is trying to fight for it.

I agree on the bad edits for many of the Chinese contestants though, like the screwing up during rehearsals, mostly were focused on them. And it doesn’t help with the language barrier

Looking back i think there is definitely some spin. For example when she started crying, the edit was 'she cried so we couldn't say no' compared to when Yurina cried. And also during the clip where she wanted to make the change another girl seemed to agree with Cai Bing.. But they didn't give the side of the story of the girls who might have wanted Cai Bing to stay in the killing part.

I would love to see an alternative edit of the programme maybe one that focused on the girls that get no screen time. They must have so much footage

I feel like a lot of the girls have gotten very little footage. Drama/sadness sells, and for the groups that did well (Missing You, Ice Cream), most of them didn’t get individual screen time to learn about their personalities or strengths. They can actually capitalise on the behind the scenes/unused footage since there’s a lot of international interest and it’s already on VOD platforms.

I only really checked out the Salute performance, I love Little Mix getting this recognition from SK in recent years. The vocals were obviously too weak as it was a group of dancers but the choreo really was exactly right for the song, I think LM would love it. Doah really stood out and they really did give every girl her shine! But then imagine being Cai Bing and having been working as a dancer for years and still being fast even in the final performance? That's going to knock her, I did wonder when we'd hit some real villain storylines. Then again is someone pulling rank really just mnet's editing being mnet's editing? It'll be interesting to see the ranking after this week.

I did check out Fate, it was nice but it wasn't really anything compared to the classical style covers you see on Chinese competition shows, which imo is clearly what mnet was trying to emulate here. Ruiqi did great.
