A short outfit is not an issue. Halle Bailey looks fantastic in her little ensemble. And then on the opposite end you have Rosé. So boring. So pretty but so boring.

rose looks like she's going to the club but a club that only boring rich people attend which basically is what the met is so i guess it's fitting. i do like her eye makeup but it only translates well in closeups

Date: 2021-09-14 11:21 am (UTC)Rosé is not wearing custom (which is a bit disappointed as she's their global ambassador) but I expected a long dress from Saint Laurent and not their typical short rock and roll black and white outfit!
Her hair is a disaster, she needs to cut it and dye it black to give it a rest.
Her makeup is barely noticeable and make her look ill. I like her liner but she needed more blush and bronzer to give some dimension to her face. She has a long face and since she lost the fat in her cheeks to balance it it's even more pronounced, that's why her hair is always in the way. Curtains bangs would look good. She has a cute pouty mouth that needed a glossy dark lipstick and not a matte pink nude one.
I hate CL's dress. I hate the fit, the white knickers, the plastic clear shoes. No idea how she could walk and sit and not flashing everybody, it was not a practical outfit!
Her hair is inspired by a traditional Korean hairstyle but it lacks volume and accessories. I like her eye makeup though but she loves a good smokey eye, she could have done something different.

I also wish Rose took the opportunity to wear something interesting. This look is giving me nothing. It WAS hilarious seeing stans on Twitter pray that she was going to change into something else, and eventually come to acceptance by switching up and saying she looked beautiful even in simple dresses lol.

Date: 2021-09-14 09:14 am (UTC)Both outfits are bad in different ways… Rosé is a basic mess, her makeup shows that her makeup artists are only used to doing it for things that do ultra closeups like editorials and music shows .. tv etc and not for the red carpet. It has to make an impact from a distance.. the white eyeliner is in trend but is muddling the entire look… the fried hair is a tragedy at this point.. they couldn’t tone it? Bring down the brass? Put some conditioner on that bird’s nest with more flyaways than flat hair and smooth it down? It looks messy and not in a good way.
I dislike Tiffany a lot and her necklace choker thing looks really tacky and not in a fun way…
The dress is… like there isn’t even a modicum of effort. Perhaps it’s a little bit mean to say this but the fact that she had to come as that fashion designer’s plus one .. she had to be on his arm the entire time and could only step like a foot away for a solo photo. just makes her come off as too desperate and for what? The met gala… at this point in time.. girl come on.. you did all of that to show up and looking like this??
The white underpants ruin the whole thing for me tbh it’s become the focal point of the look when it should’ve been the most discreet part of it . I saw some ppl say how the hairstyle and the knot on the denim thing reference the hanbok and a royal hairstyle favoured by Korean queens.. only the hairstyle works.. the knot looks messy on this cape.. the off center look balances with the rest of the elements on hanbok.. it really doesn’t go with this loose structure less cape…
