I'm here before the "iT's NoT a FuLl GrOuP wItHoUt JeSsIca (who hasn't been a member in 7 years)" comments come full force. I've missed their full group dynamic and I already know this will be a fun episode.
A little off topic but over half of the eligible population here in Korea has at least the 1st dose (myself included) so I'm optimistic that things will get better and we can begin to transition toward larger gatherings and hopefully safer promotion periods for all groups. I'm really nervous about Chuseok coming up bc the students summer vacation caused delta to rip right through us and cases skyrocketed. I'm cautiously optimistic atm 😭
I think people like to forget Jessica was planning to leave/take a long hiatus from SNSD anyway. The public statements and timelines mentioned by her and SM around the time of her dismissal perfectly lined up: she had asked to be part of one more round of promotions (Mr. Mr.) before getting to leave a bit to focus on her fashion line. They (SM/some members) agreed on that initially but then decided to disagree and Jessica was pushed out of the group.
What I'm getting at here is: I always wonder if she had left the group amicably, if she'd still be participating in these reunions? I feel like she wouldn't to be honest. That would be perfectly her choice and I wouldn't care much, but fans overestimate her attachment to SNSD imo.
Good luck on Chuseok!! Hope things turn out okay for you guys. Vaccinations are well underway in my country and our government is letting go of alot of restrictions, but I still think it's a bit scary.
I think maybe to a certain degree she would have? Maybe she would've skipped Lion Heart era but joined in for Holiday Night? Something like only the big milestones (10 years, 15, 20, etc.)
Fans wouldn't have had a problem with an amicable split, most likely the girls would have been on better terms than they are now. She could've also had a better solo career, been able to perform on music shows and appear on variety shows. The thing which pisses off ot9 stans is leaving her out of soshi's legacy, like she never existed when she was there from the start and happened to be one of the more popular ones. It is what it is but her departure still makes me sad :(
I mean SNSD as a group made just 2 Korean albums after she left. People were making Jessica out to be “not committed to the group anymore” when it was clear that the other members were also trying/planning to focus on other individual activities at the time + they probably expected that direction for the group. We don’t know what changed their/SM’s decision but it was just hypocritical to me that they’d take Jessica’s decision to focus on her brand against her.
Well SNSD has been inactive for 4-ish (??) years now, should we stop treating OT8 as members too? Lol. Sica is a big part of the legacy of the group. It’s just a fact, and it makes sense that people would mention her especially in a reunion setting like this
Inactive as a group doesn't mean no longer part of the group. Notice how Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle are still considered the members of Destiny's Child despite years of inactivity whereas Latavia, Latoya (who were kicked out), and Farah (who left) aren't? And the 3 former members weren't included in the recent reunion. Camila was also an integral part of 5H but I guarantee her ass won't be in any future 5H reunions and I know fans won't call a 4-member reunion "not a full reunion."
There's nothing wrong with mentioning Jessica or missing her. She had a huge presence in the group. I was just addressing people who say that a real full group reunion must include her. A reunion does not usually include non-members of the group (especially ones where the split wasn't amicable). I just wish people would accept this because every article that acknowledges Soshi as 8 has people with amnesia or people who can't let go of the past 😂

Lol seems like people really like that song. I feel like people always bring it up! Haha Didn't they also perform it at their manager's wedding or something?
Not a big SNSD fan but seeing them together made me smile. Reminds me of my baby years as a kpop fan! This is why seeing 2nd gen group put out music and go together on variety shows makes me happy 😊
The way all of the girls including Sunny have been posting about their reunion on social media. I have so much of feelings. NGL, it hurts me to not see Jessica included when she was a huge part of their legacy. I really wonder if we will ever see them all together again :(
I've been registering to their music and its got me through high school and life. All of the music they created from that era is so timeless and energetic. I hope we have a comeback on the cards especially since all the second gen groups are coming out with new music.
