They definitely are, but it feels much more pronounced and obvious in foreign promotions???? I don't know why that is but it always feels to me like that.
maybe because a lot of the typical kpop concepts tend to seem more "childish" when you try and look at them from a western audience perspective bc in the west pop stars drop the wholesome/cute thing as soon as they can whereas in korea no one bats an eye when twenty-something idols have that kind of aesthetic? so when songs are made specifically for the western market it kind of pulls the group out of their kpop context and highlights that difference
this looks adorable and tbh i love the sound of this. sad it got delayed a little but september is looking pretty busy for me kpop release wise anyway so maybe this is better lol.
It already sounds catchy and I’m really liking the bit of choreo we saw!
I do think it’s interesting they’re going into the international market with their classic branding, they could’ve done another Cry For Me type song but they want a new audience to meet the charm that is essential to their success.
I just hope it’s not like Dynamite or Butter lol that’s my main concern with English songs. I see the September release didn’t come through but October 1st isn’t that different.
I mean I hate to be pessimistic but I feel like this does look kinda inspired by the bts tracks success. Their cheery concepts have always looked different to this.
Having said that tho they also usually put out better songs than bts so 🤷♀️
No I agree, especially the instrumental in the beginning is giving me retro vibes that are palatable to the public, which has been what BTS has been doing with their English songs.
Truthfully though doing their original cute concept is kidz bop-py for American audiences though, so I can see why they’re doing this. It is just a snippet so I’m curious how the rest of it sounds
I actually think this will attract the same people who listen to BTS current music. colourful and idols looking good, it's the right market. but I pray it won't be as forgettable as their english songs
i love the look and sound of this lol but i love bright/cute twice
saying that i don't think its the right idea for their us debut but who knows. i don't think this will be popular with teenagers generally because they're currently into the sad angsty thing with olivia rodrigo and billie eilish. so the only people i think this appeals to are people who have always liked girl groups and brighter pop songs and those people are probably already into twice? i'm not sure they'll expand their fanbase but bright gg songs have occasionally had breakthrough appeal like little mix's black magic, but even then that was a while ago now the current western pop landscape isn't favourable to this kind of sound.

But on the flip side of that you have the likes of Doja and Dua, who both had/have massive hits with bright poppy bops (Say So, Kiss Me More, Levitating). So the audience for that type of sound is there and strong and this looks like it'll slide right into that lane.
i wanna be hyped for this but the lyrics are already so cringe, i can't even appreciate the fact that it's a cute, upbeat song again after such a long time.
Twice used to do month long promo cycles up to new singles back when they first debuted. If I'm remembering correctly, they had a full month before dropping TT and that ended up being a massive hit for them. Maybe they're hoping for the same here.
Would it even be an Autumn Twice single if there wasn't any plaid or tartan?
The info I’m trying to show is on the 2nd and 3rd slide, this appeared on my feed
Did FILA become The Feels? I can see this song being based on Dua’s Levitating. Funky dance pop does sound like they’re inspired by BTS but I hope it’s more Dua and less BTS lol
i think this sounds cute and although i agree this might not necessarily be the sound that will produce a hit in the us (but what does that mean anyway), this song and concept is in line with what twice has been doing before, in contrast to bts' english releases which feels more and more as a departure of what the group had been doing before
