WJSN’s Luda Addresses Old Dating Rumors

WJSN’s Luda recently addressed past dating rumors.

On August 18, Luda held a V Live broadcast titled “Ujung [WJSN’s official fanclub] who want to have delicious lunch together.” The topic of chopsticks came up and Luda commented, “I’m in my sixth year now [of my career] so I have to say what must be said,” referring to an infamous rumor among her fans.

Five years ago, a fan asked Luda her ideal type at a fan signing. She wrote down, “left-handed, good at chopsticks, well-mannered, and someone I can learn a lot from.” Following that, dating rumors began to spread about her and her labelmate MONSTA X‘s I.M.

Luda started to explain, “I wasn’t very good at chopsticks. Aren’t there times when adults disapprove of being unable to do chopsticks? Since I’m a case where I had to try hard to do well, I said that my ideal type was someone who is good at chopsticks. However, a huge misunderstanding arose. I’ve never once said anywhere that it was someone who was good at chopsticks with their left hand. I’ve really wanted to say this for awhile.”

Regarding the left-handed aspect, she continued, “When I was younger, there was a saying that left-handed people were smart. That’s why I said that. To be honest, they asked my ideal type so I said someone with good manners but they asked if there wasn’t something more special. I only said that after racking my brain for an answer. I was trying to say something special but instead created a bigger misunderstanding.”

Luda added, “All kinds of things arise throughout life. All celebrities have rumors. People ask how I’ve kept it in this whole time but how can you live life only saying all the things you want to say? I hoped that my fans would understand how I felt.”

Lastly, Luda commented, “It feels like my old indigestion is now gone. I really wanted to share this. In the future, I’m really going to scold you if you talk about things I haven’t even said, like ‘left-handed chopsticks.’ I finally got to say what I needed to say.”

I mean, I've heard of weird requests, but being left-handed is a first one.

I used to be super picky, I would have a list of what I wanted physically and mentaly.

omg yes same. And tbh, the more concrete the list of demands is "must have x colored eyes, this exact height" (not to mention the race fetishists) etc. the less I'm convinced they're interested in a real person.

I guess we grow out of that (most of the time), but it's wild how we're socialized into thinking this and that is "ideal", especially since most of it is physical and not something that can be changed. When I was younger I was dead set on being with someone taller than me, but now I'm like why? Especially since I've been with tall but raging assholes lol, I was excluding all the non-talls and many of those could've been actually nice!

I was the same! But then two of my aunts married shorter men (both assholes but it's besides the point) and I thought oh, maybe there isn't anything wrong with shorter men!

It's so funny bc now that I'm older, I have more of a vague but very specific idea of the type of partner I could see myself with based on the trash men I've been around. So now, it's more of like having really general traits of what I want but specific what I don't want. For example, I cannot stand loud men, short men really do have a short man complex and men who call themselves feminists usually aren't so now it's like as long as there's height, he's nice, funny has a job and somewhat educated and normal than I'm good lol

I knew a girl in middle school who said her ideal type had to be named Nicklas lmaoooo. This is common here but the name can also be spelled with just a k. It was a lot even back then but looking at it now I feel like she must've had someone in mind even though she claimed she didn't lol. Even after all these years I remember that because of the WTF.

No, our school was really small (one class per grade) so I know there was no one lol, but maybe she had met some amazing Nicklas elsewhere? There was one who spelled it with only a k though lol

i can empathise with the idea that these idols get asked these things all the time so they might want to answer something just to be a little different/humorous. imagine answering something as simple as left-handed and it ending with a dating rumour that follows your entire career. i'm glad she felt able to speak on it at last.

at this point i think my "ideal type" is unrealistic, lol. dating is a non-option for me right now, but i would like someone that can make me laugh, has common sense, not a bigot...... feel like i'd have my work cut out for me 😂

I didn’t have any time or felt the need to be in a relationship, tho.
I know my parents and relatives think otherwise, especially now that I’m growing older and being in a more stable lifestyle, they are very traditional. But I’ve been opening their minds about the possibilities of me never being in a relationship, marrying since childhood. If I ever decide to be a mom, it could be that I would adopt or co.
That’s theoretically, bc I don’t know what will happen in a few years. Life’s ever changing. But I don’t want anyone to force me into something.

He’s mostly left-handed and has mentioned that he uses his chopsticks with his left hand and he’s pretty smart ig but afaik that’s about it? Not exactly hard proof lol. I don’t keep up much with rumors so there could be something specific I’m missing but I’d bet it’s just fan imaginations running wild again
