The chart includes Gaon sales of new albums released this year and previous albums from their discography that also sold this year. It’s missing some smaller groups but has an overall impression on how it’s looking for girl group sales this year.
For Hanteo sales tracking, here’s a chart of the 1ST WEEK sales below the cut.

Date: 2021-08-17 11:43 am (UTC)Heize is a digital chart darling but her album didn’t sell much, same with Taeyeon (still impressive numbers for a soloist but you’d think she’d sell more). It’s interesting to see who people like to tune into new releases but that’s it, they’re not interested in buying. Joy’s song did much better digitally so maybe general public favors her more but just to casually listen, not enough to buy albums. The loyalty is more Wendy’s side as RV fans came out to support her album more but she didn’t stay on the top 100 long.
Also it didn’t seem like intl kpop fans cared about Joy’s release because they were 2000s cover songs, maybe if she had a more sexier concept intl fans would’ve been more into it? Though I know they aren’t into ballads either like Wendy so I’m not sure on that one haha.
