Flashback Friday
2021-08-13 03:26 pmHey party people, happy Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to see what we were listening to in the 2nd week in August, 2015. A nice mix of songs this week.
#3 Girls’ Generation “Party”
This was the first of three singles that the girls would release in the summer of ’15. The song would debut at the top spot, and it would also peak in the top ten on the charts in Japan. Not one of my personal fav songs from them, but I really liked the styling this era. I thought they all were so cute! Here’s their comeback stage at M Countdown.
#2 Super Junior “Devil”
I have never seen the video before, but I remember this song because the main actress in the video was only like 14 or 15 and everyone was like what the fuck. This was the single from the album of the same name. It featured the return of Yesung from military service. For the opposite reason, it marked the first release without Shindong and Sungmin. It was also Kangmin’s final release with the group. They would perform it live for the first time a few days after its release at their Super Show concert.
#1 Apink “Remember”
This was the title song from the group’s second full album, “Pink Memory”. They would follow up this release with a concert and their debut Japanese album. Busy summer for the girls. Here’s their Music Core comeback. I loved the cute, nautical styling this era too. The only part of the choreo that I remember is when they look like their drawing lines in the sand.
Honorable Mentions
#5 Zion.T “Yanghwa Bridge”
You know this song. It’s that one Zion.T song that everyone has covered lol. This was actually his hit digital single that he released in the fall of 2014. But it’s back on the charts again here, and I suspect it has something to do with the fact that he appeared on Infinite Challenge’s Song Festival this summer. Not only did the songs from the festival chart, but other songs from the artists as well.
#6 Infinite “Bad”
I’ve never seen the MV before, but I do know the song. This was the lead track from the EP “Reality”. The song would peak at the #6 spot and would win 6 music show wins. The group would follow up their promotions of the song with a world tour. So many summer concerts this year! I miss concerts.

Date: 2021-08-14 05:43 am (UTC)Remember had Bomi's hair fried as hell, even though the pink was nice. the starting part is my fave, but it just felt so much like their past 3 titles before that apink kind of felt predictable

Bad sounds so good even still! A lot of Infinite's music sounds good bc they didn't really fall into the trens music trap
