Yujin Discusses CLC Unofficial Disbandment + Dream of Continuing Career on “Girls Planet 999”

In Episode 2 of “Girls Planet 999”, Yujin brought up how CLC’s team has been dismissed and she gave her all for CLC. But she’s aware with her image didn’t really fit their tough girl concept that CLC took on later on, so she didn’t stand out as much. She still loves to perform, and hopes she can rejuvenate her career through the show.

I think fans hold onto CLC still coming back but now you have Elkie and Yujin acknowledging it’s currently over. Though it’s a shame having to wait on the company to finalize it. Plus Producesorn, Sorn’s youtube channel, has had all the videos privated from public viewing.

I don't know if it's because I'm biased towards Yujin since she was my favourite alongside Seungyeon, but this struck a cord with me and made me cry for a good 10 minutes.

When she said she felt invisible because of the 'strong girl' concept I felt so bad sad for her. She has the least average line distribution next to Eunbin so hearing her choke up like that felt so raw to me

You might be thinking of Yeeun? Officialy Yujin was on a Sub Vocal.

And this is from Pepe onwards, not just the concept change. She literally had like 5 seconds total in Pepe even in the OT7 version lmao. She had more forgiving line distribution after Pepe but as soon as Hobgoblin came she was essentially an afterthought. Especially for the 'strong' concepts she was either last or 2nd to last in line distribution with the exception of 'No' and 'Devil' she was 3rd.

Nope, I do mean her. I think I got confused there for a bit haha cause I read she was like an all-rounder, being good at dancing and singing and a visual? I guess I thought that besides lead dancer she was lead vocalist too.

Just remembered Elkie (and sorn?) was the lead vocalist, right? I didn't followed them closely, obviously hehe.

i mean lbr even if they weren't disbanded , if they did a comeback after this all the people saying "stan CLC! stan talent!" will all disappear like all their prior comebacks lol , cube does shit for them sure but they have had multiple comebacks since becoming the gg for kpop stans to performatively stan and they all bombed so...and i don't think yujin is going to make it and not even because of mnet rigging or whatsoever. she did okay but for an idol with over half a decade of experience i expect her to completely outclass the trainees and she's faaaaaar from it lol

Her performance was solid but didn't impress me. For me, she wore the wrong clothes and chose the wrong song. Hyuna is sexiness personified, if you do a song by her you really need to bring it, the make up and clothing did not have any of the original flavour so she will pale in comparison. I have watched some dance videos of hers andshe really suits the cute/sweet vibe a lot more. She should have chosen apink or or a cute vibe song. I think RV song could have been good or OMG.

She just didn't have the presence, I wish her well, but she is definitely not a shoo in based on this performance. Hope she better later on.

I felt it was coming all the time TBQH, that they ever got music show wins is a marvel because it was clear that Cube did NOT like them at all, but it's still hard to hear confirmed. I hope she can do well and rejuvenate her career

been on a clc binge and they have soooo many good songs i forgt how obsessed i was when goblin dropped. i especially feel sad for seungyeon (spelling?) and yeeun. they are immensely talented and it’s a shame they never took off yeeun especially is such a charismatic rapper...welp i wasn’t rooting for yujin on the show at first but she clearly loves being an idol so i support her and hope she makes the group

yujin's issue is that despite her being a good dancer, girl isn't particularly charismatic onstage. she lacks stage presence. tbh even eunbin frequently outshines her despite being clunky or blank onstage sometimes. i really do wish her well though, she clearly loves performing.

CLC will probably be like AS, where the members can promote themselves as part of the group, but the group is probably not going to have anymore activities.

Yujin did well for this performance, and I hope she gets more attention. her dance was often overshadowed by Seungyeon, and she can actually match up to her imo, just that the expressions aren't as good as Seungyeon's. but I don't have high hopes of her making it for the final group though, unless Mnet says they're not doing a cutesy/innocent group.

ill forever be mad about how cube wasted eunbin. i know shes totally blank on stage, but good lord she was SO popular on produce and would've absolutely made it into the final lineup. that entire situation was so mismanaged.

honestly I feel so sad for girl groups with larger members. I always think about how easy it is for them to be invisible when there are so many girls in the group and if you don't match with the concept because you don't fit, you become forgettable. And if you're not even in a Big 3 or Big 4 group, it's much worse.

K-pop is such an oversaturated market especially in terms of idol girls and girl groups are always shoehorned into having a cute concept or a girl crush one. There's no middle ground in terms of images or even following their concepts. I've always felt it's so easy to be invested in one group because of the way they do promotional cycles - they stick to a title track and there's no pushing other songs. People have so many choices to choose from because of the market so they forget idols very easily.

It doesn't help that their label has a hate boner for them which is such a shame :(

I hope she succeeds, honestly.
