Writing this in the queue for my 2nd dose of Pfizer atm! I managed to re-schedule it earlier when the time in between the doses was changed from 12 weeks to 8 weeks.

Also I went to see a therapist my mom recommended this week. 1st of all, the "trial" session was free(!) AND wasn't cut off after 45min which all the other therapists usually did (and always felt way too short a time to really get into anything), but actually lasted around 2h! Which I realized afterwards.
Also he talked about meditation and sent me a 20min tape that he said to try out every day for 1month and promised I'd feel "something" different. So even tho I've never really tried meditation before bc I just didn't see it suiting me, he explained it in a different way that I saw the benefit of it, and I'm gonna try and see after a month if anything's changed.

How are you doing, omona?

I‘m recovering from an otitis media with a tympanum perforation. Usually I’m very pain tolerant, but some things aren’t meant to be, lol.

Apropos job front: The decision where I will start in autumn approximately came along by itself. I received a call early this week. They wanted to let me know that they‘ve already found a suitable candidate among the mass and that I don’t have to come to the open trial of work anymore. I probably would have cancelled anyways due to health. That position was one of my favourites with the other assured job offer.

I bought some stuff to wear under skirts, dresses, tops, co. and wow it‘s a whole different experience, lmao. I‘m very satisfied with the haul, just perhaps I miscalculated the sizes. One never knows until one tries them on. I have to refamiliarise myself with my body. I‘ve been trying to get into shape again. With a cute wardrobe that I got myself last year there‘s really nothing to stop me to get on my own runway, lol.

By accident I came upon High School Babysitter. That‘s some cute shit. Aww, totally wholesome, but sad at the same time when one wouldn‘t have the elements of adorable kids.
Lately I watched Yuri on Ice. So funny. Sports animes can be highly entertaining. Haikyuu was cool, too.
I caught up on Biohackers season 2.
Saw that there‘s a drama adeption to Yeonmo — Affection with the (child) actress starring from Stained Glass. Heaven‘s Wedding Gown and Stained Glass were really one of first dramas I got exposed to as a kid, even if I can‘t watch them nowadays anymore.

our government will most likely announce today that schools and universities will open completely without any covid regulations... as a teacher i'm happy for the students and to not teach online anymore but also stressing out! why is my country so against face masks! really skeptical of this step, but our gov has messed up again and again in their handling of covid (and general governance tbh) and won't face any real consequences sooooo 🙃🙃🙃

The idea that schools and universities will be completely open without restrictions sounds wild, but that's the way they're moving here too. I wonder what that means if a teacher gets infected by asymptomatic? Does it just get put on hold or could they teach remotely while they recover? omg, I hope they figure this shit out, but they've been so terrible at it throughout everything that I too have little faith in them. But I really hope to be wrong! For both you and all students everywhere. My boss told me today that he will start "pressuring" people to return to the office two weeks from now (because the rules here are supposed to be changing then), and I said I'm not going until I'm fully vaxxed, and he was like "well, one dose is enough really", which is such a bs but easy thing for him to say since he's older fully vaxxed for months now, ughhhhh. Thankfully my vacation is coming then!

not yay: i have to get a covid test tomorrow because my city sent out an order for cram school staff, ugh. time for my nose and my throat to be attacked by qtips again.

i've been stressing a lot because i'm starting to think about whether or not i want to stay in korea after my contract is up next january (for another year) or if i just want to go home to the usa. like i have no job prospects back home but i've honestly hated my time here so far so i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place 😐

Morning Omona! I’m all packed up with my move and just need to actually take the time off of work to fully move in. My siblings were sweet and bought me a new mattress and a bed frame as an early birthday gift but now this means I have to rent a van to move everything up 🥲

I don’t know why I was stressing myself out with getting up to the apartment quickly when I told myself realistically I wouldn’t be fully moved in until mid-august or the week of my birthday. I just didn’t realize how much clothes I had and I will be actively trying to donate 80% of them as soon as possible because I just don’t have the space lol.

This weekend is both my nephew and my grandmas birthdays so we’re having a little family get together which would be nice. I didn’t get to see my grandma until we opened in phase 4 this year so getting family together has made me more appreciative. I also just started playing dungeons an dragons with my friends and I feel like a major nerd but majority of us were theater kids so it’s on brand for us plus it’s more fun that I thought it would be😂 we have a session tonight!

There's not much to say from my end. I think the pandemic has officially killed anything that I may have looked forward to last year, I don't even remember what that could have been now. Instead, I'm dreading things like the full re-opening and everyone in power frothing at the mouth to pretend like none of this ever happened. While this thing continues to rage through the global south. I hope I'm wrong and the rest of the year turns out different though.

Something positive that happened this week is that a very close friend of mine got engaged! I'm really happy for her, she's been through HELL in past relationships, but the current one seems legit and good on every level and they've been together for like 7 years already. Course, the fucking pandemic is preventing me fro attending their wedding but I'm still so happy for her.

Hi omona! How's everyone doing?

My week has been somewhat uneventful but I still manage to stress myself out of no where. That's anxiety for you.
I'm trying to find my own place, but the house market has been incredibly insane and unless I get married it's almost impossible for me to even ask for a loan, so I start thinking I'm going to live with my parents forever. I can't even rent a house! Rooms alone are being charged 700€ and it's ridiculous! How am I supposed to even live? Jesus...
I'm hoping things get better and the market goes cheaper.

Also, I was kinda shamed for enjoying house work. I was talking that cleaning the bathroom is a huge stress reliever for me and after I do it I feel at peace. With that I was told by a lovely woman that I was following a pattern of shaming women who lived to please men and that I was putting other women down for wanting to work and being independent... When I said cleaning gives me joy and peace....

Oh god…I had to come here to write this bc it’s so sick and yall are the only kpop fans with more than three brain cells but someone made a tweet about the new red velvet MV and how the public tried to take out Irene but she’s front and center in the teaser and all the quote retweets are supporting her like…this woman literally took advantage of her position of power as a successful idol to bash a staff member for twenty minutes…how can people still support here, like these are ADULT kpop fans saying this. can't seem to get my dog's glucose under control and it's been very stressful :( it was over 600 last night so my parents took her to the emergency vet, only to be charged 90 dollars just for taking her vitals. they said she could be admitted "overnight" but they would've had to come back at 6:30 this morning, would've been charged over 200 dollars for those few hours, and it's a 2 hour round trip drive :/ at that point it was already 1 in the morning. the problem w/ her glucose being so high is that it can obviously cause other problems, but she loses control of her bladder when it's too high... we've had to wash our sheets 4 times this week. i think she's gonna have to be on insulin twice a day. i'd rather not think of the alternative :(

it's been sooo hot and miserable outside here. i wanna visit some outdoor places but i can't be out in this humidity 😩 there's lots of air conditioned activities around here but we have the highest covid positivity rate in the US...... paired with the lowest vaccination rate. but at least we haven't banned cities and school districts from imposing their own mask mandates 😬

i watched the VODs for both of dreamcatcher's crossroads concerts the other night! i'm disappointed they didn't perform what or red sun during the dystopia set but otherwise it was really great. siyeon's live vocals are insane 🥵 i really regret not seeing them when they came to orlando.

I'm not that active here because I'm mostly on reddit and discord, but hello I'm going to share anyway.

Fan life: It's been two weeks and lyOns (OnlyOneOf fandom) are still waiting for 8D to act like a professional company. Most of us know we are not getting our leader/main vocalist Love back or any explanation as to his sudden departure. At this point just asking for a proper (not machine translated) English version of the announcement due to the large international segment of the fandom on their official twitter and an update on the plans for the group. I think we are never going to get that and wish the group would pull a Beast/Highlight or Got7 move and get the hell out of there.

Real life: l've been learning Korean with Bangtan Academy and that's awesome!
