If Everglow, Aespa and Blackpink all got together and tried to make something.
Not my favorite debut but surely not the worst at all. They don't seem to have a lot of energy or coordination, but then again, it can be the editing! I will check the live stages, as they might be amazing to watch. I just personally don't like when nugu groups debut from smaller companies with big MVS. It feels like the idol debt is going to be bigger.
i can see that they're trying really hard to have the tough girl crush vibe (or whatever it is) but i don't think it suits them...also that rap section after the first chorus 💀 the drop is super dated too
I like the instrumental, I like that type of sound. That’s all I got. It’s your generic girl crush song and their vocal tones are REALLY annoying at some parts. I have a high tolerance for vocal tones than the average kpop fan tbqh but even this was hard to listen to and I couldn’t finish it.
I’m impressed, most nugu songs are pretty bad, but this one was good enough to keep me watching the whole video!
I have a lot of thoughts on this. Interesting there’s only four members, but I feel like some other new groups have fewer members too, are we going back to 2nd/early 3rd generation group sizes? Agreed the green screen looks cheap in some spots, but besides that, for a nugu group it’s nice when it’s not a budget MV. Also agreed that this seems like a mash of Everglow/Aespa/BP which is just…I need BP to not be the it gg right now because I’m so tired of this trend of girl groups releasing noise/try hard songs. Even the shot of the member with the wall of flowers behind them looked very BP MV inspired. Also tired of the anti chorus trend but this one actually sounds good? Also lol at the fact that whoever produced this song seemed like they had no idea what to do for the bridge.
All in all, I may have to listen again and pay attention to them in the future.
Edit: I thought based off their English name Skyle was pronounced like Kyle but with an s in front but looking at the Korean it’s pronounced Sky-lee?? They should’ve researched English pronunciation more…
Y'know what, the styling looks pretty high budget, it's just the random background and disjointed directing of the MV that's bringing it down. Also, the editing in at the first beat drop was very odd, it like sucked out all the impact the beat drop created lol.
Too much talk-singing/rapping but the vocals sounded good, maybe the vocals were a little loud compared to the track.
I like what they're trying to do tho and the song ain't too bad imo lol.
Oh wow they rlly have that bp/everglow sound down pat. It’s not the worst song I’ve ever heard! Unfortunately there are some mv choices that look very cheap. It probably would have been better if they kept it more simple.
