OnlyOneOf Announces Love’s Departure From Group

OnlyOneOf member Love is leaving the group.

On August 2, 8D Entertainment revealed the news of Love’s departure through an official statement. Read the translation below:


"Hello. This is 8D Entertainment.

Love, who has been active as a member of OnlyOneOf, has decided to wrap up his activities as part of the team OnlyOneOf after careful deliberation. He is currently taking the steps to withdraw from the group following an amicable agreement.

We sincerely apologize for bringing such news to the fans who showed lots of support.

Because this concerns the member’s personal business, we ask you to avoid making indiscriminate speculations and spreading false rumors related to his withdrawal. OnlyOneOf’s activities that were scheduled for the second half of the year will be entirely rearranged, and we will provide further news following the team’s reorganization."



OnlyOneOf is a boy group that debuted in 2019 as seven members. Most recently, they made their return with the album “Produced by [myself]” and title track “? (questiOn mark)” this month.

Yep, the whole thing with Mill. They announced he was being punished, was put on hiatus for months and came back with a shaved head. Never any explanation.

That’s one of the reasons the fandom feels pretty shaken up by Love’s leaving. A company that pulls stunts like that makes it harder to know for sure that he’s okay and that leaving was his own choice.

I follow the group's music but not much beyond that, I had no clue about his hiatus honestly. I hate when companies do that, it just emphasises the explotive nature of idols contacts imo.

It does seem fishy, especially because in the announcement I saw they said "ITS A PERSONAL ISSUE SO DON'T MAKE UP ANY RUMOURS FOLKS. JUST DON'T." Like okay.... not weird at all

Right - if I recall correctly, at the time of Mill's hiatus they weren't even actively promoting. If they wanted to suspend him because he did do something wrong they didn't have to announce it. At the least they could have said he was out due to stress or a personal matter. Same with Love leaving - adding the admonishment not to make up rumors just makes everyone wonder what rumors could be made up.

The fandom still has no answers at this point. We don't even know what "wrap up his activities" means in practical terms. They never made the announcement anywhere but the fancafe and didn't include a translation. Meanwhile the fanbase is heavily international, I would bet the vast majority doesn't even have a Daum account. So it's third hand news for us outside of translation accounts.

It's interesting how k-companies work....... When they don't need to announce anything, they randomly do it, and when a word from them IS needed fans are left completely in the dark.
