Former EXO member Kris (Wu Yi Fan, 30) has been arrested in China for r*pe.

On the 31st, at around 11:30pm, Chaoyang Branch of Public Security Bureau of Beijing announced, "We'd like to inform you about a report submitted about Wu Yi Fan for seducing a young woman to have sex with him. We have detained Wu (Kris) on charges of r*pe and we're investigating the matter."

In the meantime, police revealed on the 22nd, "Kris' manager invited Du Meizhou (18) to Wu Yi Fan's house in December 2020 for an interview as a female lead in a music video but was forced to drink alcohol and had her cell phone taken away by the manager. She refused but was threatened using his status as a celebrity and forced to have sex. Afterwards, Wu deposited 32,000 yuan (5.6 million won) to keep her silent. The two kept in touch through messenger until April 2021. Du Meizhou later revealed there were at least 9 other victims and 2 of them were minors."

Afterwards, Kris was dropped by 10 company sponsors and went into hiatus. He denied the reports stating, "I have never r*ped anyone using casting as an excuse. I have never slept with minors."

Later, a man (Liu mo), saw Du Meizhou's revelations online, approached Kris pretending to be Du Meizhou (victim) and demanded 3 million yuan (530 million won) from Kris' agency and sent fraudulent bank account info. In response, Kris' mother transferred 500,000 yuan (88 million won) to Du Meizhou's real account. When Liu didn't receive the money, he pretended to be an official from Kris' agency and asked for the money through Du Meizhou (victim) who transferred 180,000 yuan (31 million won). As a result, Kris's company, his mother, and Du Meizhou were both scammed by Liu.

Police arrested Liu on the 22nd in Jiangsu and he's currently being detained in Beijing.

In the meantime, the maximum penalty for r*pe of a minor in China is death.

I'm glad for these updates (that he's been arrested, I mean) - his fans are off the rails on IG, with people either outright defending him or spewing "so many false accusations have taken place already and the victim sounds like she wans money so i'll stay neutral about this" BS. I am so tired of people defending garbage celebrities. So freaking tired of that.

He is fucking vile. A literal monster. Reading the crimes he’s been accused as I only knew some of it beforehand is just fucking horrifying.

He’s the first idol/former idol that could face a death sentence? This is crazy.

Allegedly he can't face death penalty because he is Canadian, there are so many rumors about that

I hope he gets the max penalty but also I think he should rot in prison forever without the release of death. It's sad to think that if he was caught in Korea he'd get 3 years max, if anything. Who knows how many more Kris/Joonyoung/Seungri's are out there in the industry... and with SK's ridic defamation laws, victims are punished even if they have proof...

I don't really have the words for this, but like I said on ontd I think the thing that terrifies me most is the idea of this whole apparatus behind him, supporting and enabling this abuse/crime. Even if he goes down, will the whole "team"? Because that never happens EVER

IA it feels like choosing one to ‘sacrifice’ when really they all need to be brought to justice.

Yup, the reports that people have videos on his team to hold it over his head — but that means they knew about it and don't care about the victims, only about their power over him.

this is such a good point — he shouldn't be the only one facing a sentence.

That's a really good point - they should all be implicated in this, they're all responsible.

yep, his staff, his manager, all of his assistants should at least be investigated bc he wouldn't be able to do all this be himself.

typically i think the death penalty is unnecessary but i'll make an exception for this sack of shit. bury his ass.

i can't believe there are still fans willing to defend ppl like him 😬 like, why? and i wish i could say it's solely young ppl who don't know shit but i've seen grown adults defending him too. it's just depressing to see.

It's just cognitive dissonance. You think someone is the greatest person ever for a long time, and then you're presented with evidence that he is extremely not that, and you can either resolve it by changing your mind about him or you can find increasingly elaborate and illogical ways to dismiss the evidence, no matter how compelling it is (especially if you've spent a lot of money on them as well). The wikipedia article on disconfirmed expectancy covers it pretty well

Following Korean stuff for so long makes me forget that China still regularly gives harsh sentences to rich & powerful people, which is definitely worthy of praise (though not death sentences, as appealing as they may seem) even with how terrible the government is about so many other things

It gets worse... there are rumours that he raped minors as young as 14 y.o.
Including a girl who was gang-raped, got pregnant and had to get an abortion.

Didn't he also hang with Seungri at some point? At bars, clubs, and such.
If Burning Sun had happened earlier, Kris could easily have been involved.

Anyway. There's way too much credible dirt on him to believe he's innocent.

I got lightheaded and sick reading that. My now ex male kpop friend said “what if he didn’t know the age? for example cash-me-outside girl looks grown for her age” I blocked him without answering.

This really blew up after a lot of DMZ's stuff turned out to be false. What's interesting to me though is that it seems obvious a lot of these brands and whatnot must have been contacted by insiders who knew the truth of what WYF was involved with. Bc deleting him based only on DMZ's allegations wouldn't make sense.

Also, age of consent in China is 14. Ifans were confusing people by constantly translating as minor and using it to mean under 18. So rape of a minor would be someone under 14. And he's not facing a death sentence currently wtf he's been detained by police.

But he's more than likely going to prison for a long time.

I'm always against state executions but hopefully this sick piece of shit will at least spend the rest of his life in prison. And I really hope all the accusers/victims are safe and supported, I don't even want to imagine how hysterically deranged his stans will be about this

Also jfc that guy saw news of a major celebrity being accused of rape and took it as an opportunity to make a quick buck 😦

It says a lot about my level of faith in the world that I am incredibly surprised he actually got detained. Now to see if it turns into a conviction.

there's a high possibility justice will be served, but it's so freaking vile all of this happened (and especially if there are minors younger than 14) it's not just a one man show already. he probably won't get death penalty though

His web of enablers who (allegedly) looked for minors/young women and drugged them for him to abuse also need to be arrested and face justice. He was helped by a whole system bent towards rich and powerful people, he can't be the only one punished here, the others would just move on to the next celebrity.

Back to him, I'm not sure if his Canadian citizenship will help though. If he was a nobody? Yeah maybe. But the government can make him into an example of taking action against the rich and powerful, no matter where they're from. So it can actually be turned against him here. We'll see.

I am against the death penalty in any case. I would rather see him rot in prison for the rest of his life. Death is a swift release compared to these girls and women who will have to deal with their trauma all their lives.

I'm still so shocked he was a completely different person to what I perceived, COMPLETELY. But I'm happy the justice system is going after him and like several people here, I hope not only him but his ~team~ gets punished like they deserve.
