🚨 Pop emergency 🚨: SNSD to reunite as full group on variety show

Girls Generation will reunite as a full 8-member group.

According to an exclusive report by News1 on the 28th, tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' is currently in discussions with Girls Generation to appear on the program. The production team and each agency are coordinating the filming schedules with the members schedules.

This will be the group's first comeback in 4 years after 'Holiday' in 2017 for their 10th anniversary.

Girls Generation's recording schedule is expected to be in early August.

I'm super excited! I miss them a lot, and though they regularly interact (especially in smaller groups/one on one) it will be very different to see them promote as Girls' Generation again. I love them on variety together, I actually go back to watch their variety episodes (like their old Intimate Note or their more recent Weekly Idol where they failed so hard at the random play dance lmao) for comfort so this news is really perfect for me

the only time OT9/Jessica was publicly recognised in recent years that I remembered was during a radio interview Yuri had with Jang Sung Kyu. He was going on about how SNSD was 9, and while Yuri acknowledged that, she did correct him that they were 8 now. other than that there's a lot of blur in terms of whether ot9 exists. even MMTG tries to remove direct shots of Jessica like the dedication

The way SM refuses to acknowledge people who leave will always be cult-ish to me. (I'm not saying any of the artists or even the company is a cult, just this aspect which is so creepy.)

Not acknowledging someone doesn't make them disappear from people's minds lol, and if it was simply acknowledged people would be more likely to move on (at least in my experience from other groups).

There is definitely truth to this. Like Naeun leaving Apink, maybe she’ll pop in stuff once in awhile but it’s obvious she’s done regularly working Apink (not that they have a strenuous schedule anyways) and the company had a really nice farewell party for her. It was a nice send off and I’m perfectly fine with if they comeback with just 5 members.

But while I really like Apink they’re not one of my all time favorite groups so maybe I’d feel differently then. Still though, just don’t make it weird and it won’t be lol

I guess the difference is in the way they left? Jessica's departure was...aggressive and lots of drama. Whereas it sounds like Naeun of Apink was more peaceful and trying to leave with happy memories.
