Date: 2021-07-16 02:57 pm (UTC)rowoon's interviews are always so thoughtful and i relate to him a lot. it's really lovely to read his thoughts and ambitions as an actor (i agree that a more ambiguous role for him would be really interesting for him!), but i also love that he also always gives a shout-out to sf9 and his members. i did not know he was writing poems — it would be really cool if he could develop some of them into lyrics as well.
one thing i want for him is that interviewers and variety shows will stop asking him about his height it's become a broken record question

seriously!!! interviews are always talking about his height and now fans are always talking about his outfits like please ask him something new its so clear he doesnt want to be asked the same thing over and over.

Date: 2021-07-16 03:40 pm (UTC)eunwoo and rowoon might definitely be offered the same things, although rowoon seems to have moved earlier to more mature roles than eunwoo. also, i am not as critical of eunwoo's acting as some, but i do think rowoon has more range than him, even in comparable roles they've taken on. i'm curious to see eunwoo take on island!
both express much ambition in their acting and their idol career i feel and i'm looking forward to see both of them in roles different from romcoms (although i do really like those roles too and i want many more making out scenes for them lol)
with fans i feel like they might not be aware that they're asking him the same question about his outfits if they're at a fansign but that doesn't really matter because rowoon and sf9 in general i feel like get a lot of questions and intrusive remarks and 'suggestions' about their bodies and outfits from fans which is very gross to me. i know they've got this sexy concept going on and that they also tend to ask for suggestions from fans but some see it as an invitation to tell them (or sometimes even demand from them) to (not) dress a certain way, style their hair a certain way or have their body a certain way which angers me to the core

Date: 2021-07-16 04:24 pm (UTC)ia, i think rowoon has gotten more mature roles from the get go and i think acting comes more naturally to him and he's better at subtle acting too but i do think the romantic male lead is limiting in general. with eunwoo i think he's shown moments where i definitely see potential but like if he's told to act cold as part of his character he ends up looking bored and not that emotive so a more complicated character would do him good for his growth as an actor imo.
same on romcoms lol like i fully support them pursuing darker things for development but also....i really like romcoms.
thats true some may not be aware, but a good few of the fans who get through to fansigns buy hundreds of albums and with that kind of obsession seem like they would be up to date with everything that gets posted from other fansigns so i am still a little judgey lol. and you're right it ties in to some fans having that weird sense of ownership over idols that they feel they can comment and suggest things about their bodies or outfits and its likely to be made worse when they have a sexy concept, like even idols with more innocent or neutral concepts get comments like that regularly :/ i know kpop marketing can encourage these kind of parasocial relationships but it still amazes me when people openly demand things from idols.

oh definitely eunwoo has been playing a lot of pretty similar so he also wasn't always able to showcase a great range, which is maybe why people have been pretty harsh on his acting at times, what i do really appreciate is that most roles he's chosen up to now really centralized the female lead's storyline and character development so this is usually why i've enjoyed his dramas a lot (downside to him is that this made his roles often less interesting)
ah yikes yes all very good points re: obsessed fans + other idols receiving similar comments. where do people get the money from?? and the entitlement?? (well obv some fans think "i'm spending money on you so i can tell you anything" and/or think they're in an actual close relationship with the idol — the latter like you said heavily encouraged by the industry). to have the nerve to comment on people's bodies like that!
