Date: 2021-06-11 09:41 am (UTC)I'm nowhere near getting married lmao, but my parents had this experience to share with me: sit down and talk about your wishes and boundaries before planning anythng.
Their wedding was super rushed (my mom was already pregnant lol) and they didn't have a big budget (both wanted a small wedding anyway) so both on the same page about wishes.
My father had one boundary though : to have his own mother absolutely NOT involved in planning. She's great but a little intense lol, and she would have asked for a bigger wedding if involved...
They worked out a solution around it (which involved choosing the region my mother's family came from so my father's family would be guests and not involved in planning) and remember their wedding fondly!

my focus this week is -100 so work has been super unproductive. perhaps it's the beautiful weather? the end of the school year? that i've got a lot of grading?
for the rest, things are opening up here more and more but i still really haven't fully realized that i can visit a cinema or a museum now lol! but i did meet some friends instead of meeting one-on-one which was nice :)
this weekend i don't have a lot planned, except for my book club! what are you currently reading omona?

Date: 2021-06-11 11:08 am (UTC)Not much to tell since last week, I've been so busy at work and so tired in the evenings that I haven't even enjoyed restaurents reopening yet, nor seen friends. And it's SO HOT I'm not made for this weather, I'm struggling. Plus my shower seems to be stuck on "hot" which is fine in the winter but goddamn I need a cold bath. I'm working remote this afternoon (was at an in-person meeting this morning, with coffee and croissant on a terrasse for those who came early which was super nice!) and I might work from the tiles in my bathroom rather than my desk next to the window lmao. How am I going to survive summer!
For the quizzes,
I first got sangria aka unpredictable, a little messy, spontaneous, open to new experiences. I suspect that it's because I picked Wine as my potluck role lmao — true that I'm usually bringing booze but also people ask me to do it... Sangria is never my first choice but I good drunk several times on it, and the description fits so ok I see it 😂
And I got 'old fashioned cocktail' as the second one, aka something with bourbon, describing me as "classy" and a "vintage soul" lmao I don't see it at all???
My favourite cocktail is a caipirinha but my go-to choice would simply be a beer.

Other than that I’m seeing the new Conjuring movie this weekend and I’ll finally be in a movie theater since last year! I’m so excited 😭 and op I’m apparently a Guinness which isn’t a cocktail and a Cosmopolitan which was one of the most disgusting drinks I’ve ever had lol

my dog got diagnosed with diabetes this week 😬 they gave her some specialized dog food and taught me how to do the insulin injections. she's supposed to have her sugar levels monitored all day tuesday at the vet. i'm puzzled by it tbh because her symptoms didn't start until after my dad changed her food to some cheap shit. i know he's got bills to pay but dogs have gotten really sick from eating that cheap food. :/ i'm hoping that having this diet change for a little while will ~reverse~ it; i'd rather it just be a simple change to high quality food instead of daily insulin shots for the rest of her life 😭 she's doing fine otherwise and she doesn't even flinch when she gets an injection!!
i've been seeing friends on twitter meet w/ their irl friends, and while i'm really glad for them, i end up feeling irrationally annoyed bc i don't have any friends that live nearby and i don't have the time or resources (read: no driver's license) to go visit any 😐

Date: 2021-06-11 08:42 pm (UTC)I hope Taemin is doing ok...I find it annoying when fans treat him like a baby, they go overboard but after seeing how he looked the days leading up to his enlistment made me sad. After he cried on the live when he announced it I thought he would feel better about it after talking to his older members but up until the minute he enlisted he seemed just as sad. When he cancelled his fanmeet 15 minutes before schedule he must’ve been doing really badly mentally/physically. Then he was quiet for days and didn’t even post a video of his hair getting cut like the other 3. The few bald photos we got his eyes looked puffy and he couldn’t even force a smile.
I read on insta that once of his fellow soldiers says he’s really quiet and reserved and just does what he’s told quickly. Idk if it’s legit or not. ugh lol why am I worrying I don’t even particularly like him that much.
