The agency revealed to Newsen, “Red Velvet is preparing for a new album with the goal of a comeback in August. Please look forward to it.”

Seconding the comments about idk how to feel with the comeback because of Irene’s scandal. Really wish she just left since she really doesn’t add much (besides being the visual I get it, but honestly Joy can fill that just fine with her gorgeous looks)

But I do really like Joy, Seulgi, and Yeri so I’ll tune it to see them at least. It helps that I never buy anything related to Red Velvet so I don’t have to worry about supporting them that way.

But overall very curious what will the reception be to the cb, will it be overlooked by the separate art from artists fans or will it struggle because of Irene’s reputation. I definitely think RV fans will put in the overtime to save it but there’s also only so many RV fans compared to BP/Twice

Ah man I’m really excited!! But I’m also conflicted bc I agree that Irene shouldn’t have a career after her outburst scandal and ofc Wendy isnt any better. But I’m here for the other members!!

On a separate note, I’m really surprised this is happening. I read somewhere that there were rumors of a group comeback in July so obviously that wasn’t far off. But with them being as far into their group career as they are + Wendy and Joy’s solo debuts + irenes scandal, I thought for sure they were for sure done as a group so this is nice.

Also to touch on Irene’s scandal again, I wonder how netizens feel? Sadly I have noticed many kpop fans on my timeline openly fully supporting Irene again like nothing ever happened (and I only follow fellow adult kpop fans) and it’s very 🤢🤢 like…Irene is a literal bully and she shouldn’t have a career anymore.

August? They debuted in August back then, aren't contracts signed months before debut and so they end before the anniversary? Or does it start counting the moment they debut?

I'm still mad at wendy and irene and I don't support nor care about their solo careers. But I decided to still watch rv's new mv, listen to their new b-sides and watch some of their performances out of curiosity and because they used to be my favourite gg. I never buy any albums, stream nor vote on music shows and rn my internet is so bad I can't even watch 480p videos on youtube — so it'll be as if i'm not even paying attention to them and It's better that way.

Tbh it's disappointing to be in this position because as I mentioned they were my fave gg, and I wanted to root for them to last more than 7 years/start having more of a say on their careers but bs happened and here we are.

I hope she's made some changes to her behavior and perhaps started seeing a therapist. Not that we'd ever know, but I strongly believe SM, of all companies, should have a retinue of therapists on staff. They can't cry poverty and claim they can't afford it.

I feel like they haven't had a comeback since Really Bad Boy in 2018 (I know they've got plenty of discography between then and now, I just haven't liked any of it).

I wanna be excited because I love RV but Irene’s scandal turned me off (I’ve already written Wendy off in my mind tbh) I really do love this group and I doubt Irene would have actually reflected in the time they’ve had off. I will cautiously support but we shall see.
