I remember when this song came out and the response was very divisive. 2013 was a very...excitable year musically. They had me and then they did them close up shots.
Seola is a really good vocal stand in for Krystal...like...very. Exy made lemonade out the lemons that were Amber's parts. Bona and Eunseo...
The lack of Luna in the harmonies is very evident, and made it sound empty for me. BUT it's fine. They do a good job.
i have been praying that fromis will do another fx cover (they even have their own (love) rum pum pum 😔) but this will do. they did a good job! its hard to cover fx with just 4 members as its hard to match their natural charisma but i always love seeing classic gg songs getting covered and appreciated.
They needed a 5th voice to round them out more - Dawon is my favorite so naturally my first pick but I do think her tone would've brought it all together quite nicely - and I missed both the 'ooh ooh ooh, oh ohs' in the chorus and how bare it sounded but in general this is a perfectly fine cover. if anything it points out that f(x) is hard to nail

Overall I thought it was good, like others are saying just empty at the chorus without the "oh oh". I'm glad people are still giving attention to f(x).
They did it justice. The empty harmony in chorus is just the way these idol covers are. Company dont put much effort to reproduce the sound for cover performance, just like that Boss girl group cover.
I don't know what was going on with the backing music (where were the percussions?!), it was so quiet/lacking that it took away from the performance. Which was also... lacking. Seola did give me Krystal vibes vocally though. Overall though, it was disappointing.
All of f(x) were good performers. Even Sulli at her most miserable/checked out still had a level of magnetism on stage that I didn't feel from any of them here. Maybe they don't like the song, which is fair, I hated it the first time I heard it, but that's not an excuse. If Aespa can manage with Next Level WJSN The Black should be able to pull out the stops with what, in hindsight, is a fantastic song.
Also, f(x) was amazing, SM destroyed them and killed Sulli (I stand by this), and I want the appropriate amount of respect and joy attached to any and all covers and performances.
All of this complaining being said, any time the world is reminded of f(x) makes me happy (in a melancholic way).
i love rum pum pum and i think they did well! it's lovely to see f(x) still getting some attention <3 exy sang some parts too and just like amber, she has a lovely tone — hope she gets to sing a bit more
