I like it. Yeonjun looks amazing. I guess it's because the concept is quite generic, but the video reminded me of BTS' I Need You, and all the concept videos from that era.

i love it! i won't lie i'm not super blown away because i feel they showed the best bits of the song in the teaser so it's as good as i expected rather than more but i still love it lol. love the angsty styling too. i expected seori to be in more of it? its not really a noticeable feature at all. i like the mv but i did expect something a little more based on their teasers and how great their concept trailer was.
as for the album anti-romantic is nice but within their discography i would label it their most boring song lol it's not bad in any way but i can't see myself ever thinking wow i want to listen to that. magic uses far too much autotune but the verses are okay, for a bright song its one of their weakest and the clap your hands bit is too cheesy and its an olly murs so like... i'll pass on that one too. ice cream is good the cheesiness works in this song unlike magic, i like that its bright and despite like childish lyrics has a more mature summer song vibe instrumentally. idk why balance game is now called what if i had been that puma lol but i like it too even though the over producing is bad here too on the chorus, i like the change up when the rap comes in. no rules is super fun too i love their brighter songs, like it's no wishlist but nothing can be, it's great and i like that its slightly funky in parts. i loooove dear sputnik, the chorus bit where it actually says the title is the weakest part i guess but the rest of the song is great. frost is soooo goood! probably my favourite b-side. overall the album is weaker than their last one for me mostly because ghosting and wishlist went straight into some of my fave songs of all time territory but there's a lot of good things on this still.
honestly the only b-sides i don't like are the ones none of the members worked on and i think that says everything, it was the same on the last album any song where they contributed was just better. even if theyre contributing minimally they clearly still have some kind of magic touch i dont want any b-sides in the future they werent involved in tbh.
firth the hand mics are great I like that touch to the choreo. the songs good and I can actually distinguish voices instead of everything being autotuned vocal uncanny valley. it's not my fave title from them I can already tell but I like it enough.

i didn't listen to the album properly yet but the title is fantastic. even the vocals sound good? from the comments it looks like bh loves autotune too much to let it go completely, but i'm glad they restrained themselves on the title at least

listened to the album several times now and my ranking is as follows:
1. lovesong and no rules: both are freaking amazing. they're so good i honestly don't even need the rest of the album lol 2. dear sputnik and anti-romantic: they're great too, i especially love dear sputnik. but i'm slavic so i have to or i'll get banished 3. ice cream and frost: i can tell frost was written with a younger demographic in mind ๐ but it's fun as long as i turn the volume down. ice cream is already bh's resolve cracking on the autotune for no reason, because i think it's a fun song otherwise. could have been better though, the pre chorus is freaking amazing, it should have gone in a different direction with the chorus imo but this isn't too bad either 4. magic and balance game (i'm not using that weird english translation, what the heck): i don't really care for either of them? balance game would have been a nice song without the freaking autotune but i guess bh just couldn't let it go. magic is just there.

I love the title track as much as I expected. It's an instant favourite. The melody is gorgeous, it gives the song a very nostalgic yet uplifting vibe. They sound super raw but it definitely works on the studio version (the live sounded a little more strained but they still did a wonderful job, too bad the camerawork was shitty ; I really want to see the full dance practice video). Taehyun is a gem. I can't wait to see him grow into his full potential.
The MV is typical HYBExLumpens and I love it. It feels dramatic and fun all at once and it's very beautifully shot. Yeonjun's little dance and the fire scene are the highlight of the whole video of course!
Anyway, work's been a bitch today. I didn't have time to replay the album as much as I wanted so I don't have a definitive opinion but what I heard sounded promising. Maybe a little too much rap overall? I'm not huge on ballad ~ slow songs but I do really like Anti-romantic!
I'm just not feeling this album ๐ฌ. After the success of blue hour, I think it was a missed opportunity not to release a whole album filled with fun pure bubblegum pop and pastels. When the end of year award performances were happening, that's literally what set them apart from the hundred other 4th Gen groups with the dark angsty visuals and sounds. Magic kinda has potential to be a fun summer bop so kinda suprised it wasn't the tt.
I don't love the title track or most of the album. My fave songs are No Rules and Dear Sputnik. I forgot how their last mini sounded, but listening to it I liked it a lot more than this one. My fave album from TXT so far is The Dream Chapter: Magic. I think they do pop songs better.
