experience the 2021 shiny arts festival 💖

on the evening of may 30th, shiny foundation held their third "annual" arts festival. (quotations there because it's meant to be annual, but last year they had to postpone due to covid.) the festival, which was hosted by songwriter kim eana, featured both appearances and performances by snsd's taeyeon, red velvet's wendy, yoo seungwoo, okdal, soran's go youngbae, highlight's yoseob, and key and minho. the festival lasted for just under three hours and, frankly, is the most direct celebration of jonghyun's life and legacy that has happened in the last three years. it was not only warm but comforting in atmosphere ... which is really exactly what jonghyun has always been. under the cut is a selection of translations from the talk segments that the guests each participated in!

I got up early to watch this bc I wasn't sure if we would get a livestream like this ever again since i'm assuming things will be safe for south korea next year. I hope they'll still make it available for international fans to watch like this though!

It was absolutely the most healing experience, i'm so happy that all these people who loved him could come together and share in music and good times and talk about him in such a healthy way! I think about how he's remembered all the time and if his artistic legacy and how good of a person he was will be known for a long time. This is how i'd love for him to be remembered, and for his name to continue to do good for upcoming artists in the future. his family amazes me so much for putting all this together.
