hm kinda shows even more explicitly that they barely even move on stage. is kiel tutin the one who made choreo? this is his typical strat with only doing some walking, hip shaking, posing and hairflips.
the song is growing on me, it's not bad. but i still don't understand sm's motivation behind 2/3 songs being remakes. just give them cute/regular concept that members actually want, i'm sure they will be more relaxed and less people complain about them not having charisma.

they also made a Chungah, Yubin and other artists choreos. They also did BoA's "Better". Also, one of them, her name is Rian, is responsible for a ton of choreos we enjoy

so I'm kinda lost on how they created this

ooooh thank you for info! i'm familiar with rian and now i realize that i saw simeez with taemin a lot (didn't know they were in same dance group).
i'm actually genuinely shocked that this is what they came up with. their choreos are always interesting and fun. what the hell even happened here.

I love the group, the three of them are so talented that I could not believe this was a dance that was created by them.

I'm wondering if they were told it HAD to be like this because of the camera work they were planning on doing, or if they worked with someone else for this.

Also, Rian usually posts on youtube the choreos after the MV's are out, she even posts the before and after, in case dances are alterated, so im constantly going to her channel to see if the dance was something in the begining and then they were forced to change everything

yeah the only explanation i can come up with is that sm had a specific vision (then why hire this dance group...) and they were working around some kind of initial idea. still weird because it's not like aespa members are bad dancers that there is any need for this kind of 'walk walk pose' choreo.

I think a "walk walk pose" choreo can actually be pretty cool, but this is just....meh. And that's why im so "butthurt" because this dance group makes such fierce and awesome choreos for female groups/soloists.

I personaly think SM already had the vision of the camera work before anything else, and therefore, having a complex or faster dance would not fit their vision, so they decided to have a slower dance

oh yeah sm bought that expensive tech (was it some kind of camera arm or whatever) that they seem to shove in every mv to justify it. sounds like a good theory!

I think they are more into visuals (from the girls + new camera) than anything else, so they don't care about the choreo, because the camera gives the idea they are moving a lot.

But they forgot that on music shows, the camera work is not the same as the MV and it shows how boring this is...and it pains me to say that about La Chica's dances T_T

It's definitely the camera work, the girls even talked how they had to work around that (and they themselves aren't comfortable with it). When you compare their performances with the fancy camera work vs the regular music show camera work, they're more comfortable with the latter because their eyes don't have to travel everywhere lol

oho they did chungha's stay tonight and clc's helicopter! those are VERY energetic and creative choreos so i'm kind of surprised they worked on this too.

They are super energetic, fun and you can see in their choreos they try their best to make dances that compliment the song and the artist.

this shows that the girls have a lot of personality and would've been more comfortable doing a brighter concept than this girl crush/ae concept. they're so cute and supportive of each other though

edit: i watched other gg's relay dance and surprisingly aespa's more entertaining? they're not as sharp as others (especially with jyp dancers), but they were having so much fun in this relay dance that it's so cute to watch it again. Karina gives me the energy that she never really wanted to be in the center lol

i really do like the song (as a i got a boy apologist lmao) but i just wish aespa can pull the girl crush concept off more on stage since they're super adorable and i like the way they bounce off each other off stage.

I gotta say, Karina is trying her best to give this choreo more energy than what actually has.
And i just know these girls can do so much more, especialy because it seems the dance was made by a group I absolutely love, that's called La Chica, so I'm confused..x.X they created BoA's Better and Chungah's Stay tonight...

This is probably the best performance of Next Level by them I've seen.

Maybe they're hating the song less? Karina seems to have really gotten into it, Giselle looks really happy (maybe she just loves performing?), Winter seems less nervous and more comfortable. Ningning on the other hand still looks pretty anxious but I'm not sure that has anything to do with the song, though I'm sure it doesn't help. She's talented, charismatic, and pretty. She needs to hear it more often, maybe it will help her relax. She has the most potential to be the strongest all-around performer.

I still hate the song though. I've heard it enough that is don't have the same visceral negative reaction, but that wasn't a choice. They'd be so great if they had a song like Happiness. Why is SM trying to force them to be Itzy/Black Pink/G-I(dol)? It's not working. No matter how much money they throw at everything other than the actual humans.
