PLOT: When a grim incident occurs at their prestigious school, justice through law is put to a test by a tough law professor and his ambitious students.

Yang Jong Hoon is a criminal law professor and a former elite prosecutor, whose harsh words make him the professor to steer clear of. At the same time, there’s something compelling about his strict teaching methods and his refusal to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession.

Han Joon Hwi, a first-year law student, is at the top of his class. He’s a natural leader whose good looks and easy charm make him the perfect man - on paper. However, there’s an unexpected side to him that remains well-hidden.

Kang Sol is another first-year law student who overcame childhood poverty and hardships by gaining special admission to the school. She walks a path of thorns due to her constant sense of deprivation and shame amidst the wealth and talent that surrounds her. Eventually, her passion will enlighten her on what it truly takes to be a good lawyer.

Kim Eun Sook is a civil law professor who was once the head of the law school’s free legal clinic. Her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality earned her the reputation for being a master in court. Known for being a highly-relatable professor, she is the sole colleague Yang Jong Hoon dares to confide in.

Amazing court scene with Prof. Yang and Yeseul. I watched that part thrice!

I also thought the same as you regarding James haha! It does seem to be hinting at something like that!

lmao Sol B just doesn't seem to have any emotions most of the time

i suck at writing discussion post comments cause i feel like unless i write a comment as i watch i basically forget everything that happened immediately afterwards lol. but i did binge this whole series last week and i'm really enjoying it! with the focus on yeseul's trial i feel like i forgot all the other plot points happening at the same time like when they arrested lee man ho i was like ohhh yeaaah that murder hasn't been solved yet.
it's been obvious that its all going to tie in with the assemblyman because dramas always do its always like the mayor or the assemblyman or the police chief or whoever but the motives aren't clear yet, i assume it will tie in with kang sol's sister somehow considering that isn't close to being resolved yet.

i can't really make a coherent comment about this week's eps because there were just so many scenes where i had to pause and be like 'yes! this! right here!' because writer did such a good job with ye seul's case and kept so many eps (and storylines)focused on what happened to her.
early on when she was just walking around in sunglasses i thought her storyline would be over around the ep where she asked to sleep in kang sol x2 room. i'm happy i was wrong about it! and i'm grateful for that scene where prof. yang made her process everything that happened to her. when she said that she was raped by the man she loved... that was powerful. i loved how it was about her instead of just 'let's catch nasty perp!'. abuse is so complicated and i'm glad that writer did their best to reflect it. both this drama and taxi driver keep a very clear focus on victims and they are my 'healing' dramas like kdrama watchers like to say about slice of life genre lol.

also obligatory best moment:

i've only watched episode 12 but i just wanted to come here and scream that i really want that manipulative abusive asshole and his dad (also a manipulative abusive asshole) to get what they deserve that scene where he came to the courthouse my blood was BOILING

the scene between yeseul and prof yang was so good i cried, not only because of the great acting by both actors but also how they showed exceptionally well how difficult it is for victims of sexual violence who have an intimate sexual relation with their perpetrator to come forward. unfortunately it hit close to home but i hope that this show and in particular this storyline helps people better understand this issue better and create some empathy for the victims

sol a's mom is also a great addition for this trial, not only because she's on yeseul's side but because her questioning/remarks really illustrate how the formal procedures of law can sometimes really take out the common sense of situations

yes both of those scenes were so good to! i'm really happy yeseul's case has been deemed self-defense but it seems like her horrible ex and the assemblyman will continue to torture her :( fortunately i'm sure they'll get what they deserve at the end.

i'm pretty sure now that prof kim's kid is involved in all of this too!

I agree OP, that scene/lecture between Prof Yang and Ye Seul was fire! I also loved when the jurors looked at Yang so he'd explain what "reasonable doubt" means, I laughed so loud (same with that scene with the water from the gift above).

Awesome episodes as always. The trials have ended in a good way. Sol B finally admitted her wrongdoings (though I don't think she understands why it was bad and doesn't feel sorry about it :s). And that Lee Man Ho creep is finally behind bars (though unfortunately we'll keep seeing him).

I felt a tiny bit let down with the "revelations" because frankly we all knew that the creepy ass was involved with the murder and that Assemblyman Ko was behind him.
But we've also learned that Seo Ji Ho's dad was framed by Ko too.
I really can't wait for his and Jin's demise.

I felt terrible for Ye Seul and Sol A's mother and I'm so happy she won her case and it won't be appealed.
Dating/domestic abuse is such a terrible crime and so overlooked usually that I'm glad they put a focus on it.

The end is near and I already know I'm going to miss this show dearly
