considering everglow are supposed to have a warrior concept i think i expected a little more from the teasers and i didnt recognise eu at all with the new hair and her face being covered at the same time.

on one hand i love the over the top aesthetic of aespas but have conflicting feelings on how these real girls are constantly being blended with unrealistic cartoon concepts/images idk something about it feels weird

Mina’s hair in that teaser is my fave. It gives that very specific 2000’s look for futuristic warrior. I don’t know how to explain it but I love it.

My issues with Karina still stand: VERY PRETTY. Very dull. She isn’t giving nearly enough. But she is very pretty by default. I actually like her little personality we have been given but it doesn’t translate to the concept.

Rub-A-Dum is a stupid title, but if that is the beat, then have at it!

there is something about the way karina is marketed that just gives me the heebies. like someone said above, it's definitely got something to do with the blend of photorealness/photography/cgi, but it's also how she just seems to be put forward as this bland, wide-eyed, doll-like creature rather than...having any personality in her photos? she genuinely just seems like a cgi videogame model. like objectively her teaser is pretty cool with the aesthetic and motorbike and shit but i don't like it here mum i want to go home

Agreed about Karina. The whole model aesthetic set by BP is really terrible to begin with but with aespa SM is literally making them seem like cgi dolls which is.... another level of creepy sexism?

If we didn't have the whole avatars thing, I could appreaciate this more as a video game or a fantasy with cyberpunk elements kind of concept and think it's cool, but we do have the whole avatar thing + sexism and objectification of women + those ridiculously high beauty standars, so seeing these teasers blur even more the boundaries between the girls and the avatars/the girls looking like characters, it does make me uncomfortable (and like other users have said, karina's expression, or more like lack thereof, isn't helping.).
