I've always heard if the editing is ridiculous such as lots of camera angle changes and cuts and such, then it means the "performance" is boring. The camera work/cuts have to MAKE it exciting. I think that's why dance versions weren't a thing in early kpop. Now that choreographies are more dynamic and entertaining, dance versions are a thing. But they still sometimes do that zoom in/out thing which is annoying.
