taeyangs elegance cannot be hidden by a tracksuit im glad from the preview of next weeks kingdom he looks to have solo time to shine there too
i wont lie youngbin has had stronger dance covers but he looks surprisingly good in a lilac suit
inseong vocal king! hoping they'll use one of their stages on kingdom to be more vocal based they're not btob but between inseong, jaeyoon, dawon and rowoon they have the opportunity to really shine using them they all have pretty distinct vocal tones but work well together

the actual stage for that dance practice was stunning, loved his outfit there too! he is so talented when will people recognize!
i also like youngbin's grey hair! i was not blown away by his dance video but i thought it was cute and he seemed to have had fun
yesss i agree! of course they're no btob (to be fair, they also don't have as much experience as them), but i think they could really stand out by striking the right balance between vocals and performance instead of focusing only on performance/concept like many other groups on kingdom do. i completely agree that their voices are very distinct but complement each other well, and their range is bigger than they show in their title tracks imo.
a ballad version of easy love!!!!!!!!! is now all i want! i have been playing that song so much last week, i looove up tempo sad songs

Date: 2021-04-10 06:39 pm (UTC)i assume he will be performing at some point if he actually went on the show with them i don't think they would have had him appear if he wasn't going to contribute to the stages at all. so long as he doesnt feel pressure to go back to overly physical performances too soon
he can definitely dance better than what was shown there, he's not quite on the same level as chani and taeyang is another level above imo but he is still in the dance line, maybe it was just practiced, filmed and released pretty quickly. he looks great with grey hair! my favourite is the bright red he had cause not everyone can pull that off but i think he looks good in all colours.
btob are on another level vocally considering they have members missing at the minute who are better than most other idols out there at the minute too so they're not even at full vocal power in kingdom i don't think anyone can compete and that's fine lol but out of the rest of the groups imo sf9 are the strongest if you consider the vocal ability of all members.
rowoons vocals at the transition to easy love @0.38 in this vid.....i think about it once a day i literally downloaded this from youtube and cut everything out but that 10 seconds and listen to it all the time i have rowoon disease.... but i think this vid in general is a good idea of what kind of performance they could aim for instead of always trying to compete with everyone else with dancing/stunts/props

i also really liked the bright red hair and was surprised how well he pulled it off — it's often my most hated colors on idols lol. but his mamma mia mint hair with the mullet was terrible (but perhaps ahead of its time, if we look at idol hairstyles now)
no they should not compete with them with their vocals, btob are def on another level, but combined with performance i think it could be something! from the performances earlier this week and the previews from other groups next week, i was not really impressed with the vocals (like they put in a super high not from one of the other groups and everyone was looking all impressed but it was not a nice sound to me..)
lmao op i can always count on you for rowoon appreciation! his voice emotes super well (as though he's gone through 3 divorces already, the poor guy) and has such a nice tone. it would be great if the group could show that off instead of focusing on competing with stunts and flying.
he also looks exceptionally good with his hair like that!

i actually think the format of the kingdom camera work where the groups generally have the camera moving around the stage works quite well for him performing with an injury because they can switch between members doing more physical parts of the routine and more stationary without it looking out of place cause thats what everyone is doing
i liked the mint mullet 😤 i hate mullets but i like any fun colours like it was a little ugly but cute ugly.... and i looove bright red or ginger on people but it doesn't suit everyone.

i cant help myself i am a one woman rowoon promotion machine. and exactly! his voice carries emotion really well which is why it's my favourite even though he obviously doesn't have the range that say inseong has. i actually think taeyang has an underrated voice when it comes to getting emotion across too i really noticed it when i saw them live.

i remember you telling me at some point that you attended their concert i think? didn't you do something along the lines of a meet and greet as well or am i imagining things? what was it like? anything that surprised you/was particularly memorable?

Date: 2021-04-10 11:29 pm (UTC)dawon saying he thought international fans might forget about them during the kingdom ep and after this apparently dawons last live had a big increase in english comments, intl fans really were previously just trying to write in korean more its an unfortunate side effect of trying to be considerate thinking intl fans disappeared lmao
i think he was the only one with big vocal notes in the preview he has red hair if that helps identify him lol to be fair if you try and hit a high note and it starts off wrong you just have to commit to it anyway what can you do i feel bad for him that the note went funny he really is the backbone of ateez vocally. i dont always love his tone but his singing has impressed me a lot other times too.
yes i went to see them live and i just went to hi touch — there was an actual fansign on that tour but i didnt go (the tickets for the actual tour didnt sell that well and the fansign was very expensive i assume to make up costs). i did talk to people who went though and all their lingering impressions were about jaeyoon apparently he is easily the best at fanservice lol which doesn't surprise me. from seeing them up close rowoon felt even taller than i expected and he wasnt even at full height he was leaning on a table, him and taeyang are another level of beautiful up close, inseong was also super friendly and cute and i am still annoyed at zuho for his recent comment about dawons hair but he was the biggest surprise for me even now i think he comes across as cold in videos and stuff but has a very warm/cute vibe in person and kept trying to interact with fans even when the staff were telling him to go. literally my memories are just like.....they are cute and tall.......

i can imagine jaeyoon being the biggest flirt 😩😩😩 i don't think i would survive lol. for rowoon and taeyang to be breathtaking irl i can totally imagine that too — comparing to my experience seeing bts live for the first time, i was literally struck by how stunning he was irl. it sometimes just doesn't really translate from a screen even though you can still see they're good looking idk

Date: 2021-04-12 09:38 am (UTC)here (https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/sf9/2019/kings-theatre-brooklyn-ny-5b9d43bc.html) is the tracklist for that tour. ignoring the fact taeyang and jaeyoon were singing a justin bieber song it was one of my favourites. i can't pick a favourite of their actual songs because they were all good but i do have a soft spot for easy love hearing it live was an experience but the whole concert was so fun! the only negative is they performed enough english version during the encore when they could have sung another one of their bsides i never listen to english versions so i was slightly bitter they wasted a slot at the end lol
i wouldnt even want to go to a fansign i cant deal with fanservice-y stuff i would cringe in front of them lmao the hi touch is enough interaction for me. and you're definitely right about seeing them irl especially with bts (i am a loyal jin stan i was obviously awed at his beauty but he kept staying at the other side of the stage from me 😔) but i was quite close to the stage when i saw them at wembley and taehyung irl was shockingly beautiful the absolute vibes he has

Date: 2021-04-12 10:19 am (UTC)yeah the 'he' i referred to was jin lol! there's embarrassing videos of me (fortunately only on my and my friend's phone) screeching how beautiful he is and then my conversion as a jin stan was complete lol. taehyung is gorgeous but i find his handsomeness and air to translate as well on camera as off whereas for jin it was a huge surprise to me

If yes, she definitely must've saved a country in her past life.I third the request for a more vocal-based stage! I like what they did with the rearranged version of Midnight Road for their concert since it showed how their vocals went well together despite their distinct tones, and they even added raps to highlight the rappers. I remember the Teen vogue article evaluating each group, and the fact that they chose "versatility" for SF9 as their strength is spot on.

Date: 2021-04-11 08:31 pm (UTC)the second episode was bad. the editing is really awful. i think SF9 maybe got 1 minute screentime max.
btob had 4 extremely cheap ass white screens as their stage decor, ikon's stage was really unfortunately edited/filmed. i'm not a fan of ikon but i felt really bad for them, they worked so hard on their performance and mnet completely ruined it.
the boyz had a very pricey decor, their editing was superb.
stray kids also got a lot of screen time.
it's very clear who they do and do not favor.
i feel really bad for the groups who were clearly forced to go (btob, ikon, probably SF9) and now get set up for failure.by mnet. it's interesting how much filming and editing can do to make a group look both fantastic and absolutely horrible :/
