Ex-T-ara singer Soyeon's stalker under probe for trespassing on her home

A man who is alleged to have been "stalking" singer Park So-yeon, better known as Soyeon of disbanded K-pop girl group T-ara, is being investigated on suspicion of breaking into her apartment building.

According to Gangnam Police Station Thursday, the man in his 30s, whose identity is being withheld, is under investigation for allegedly trespassing on her home at around 10 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Before being nabbed by police after residents' reports, the suspected was "looking for her" in the building, ringing the bell of every door in the building.

Soyeon's agency, Think Entertainment, said she has been a victim of stalking since last year.

"The stalking started early last year. Soyeon has been having a hard time as (the person) kept coming to her building," it said.

Another former member of the group, Jiyeon, said a day earlier that someone had sent her death threats on social media.

"Jiyeon has been getting threats on Twitter and Instagram from an unidentified person," her agency Partners Park said in a statement Wednesday. "We are collecting evidence and have requested police to launch a formal investigation for Jiyeon's safety."

Soyeon debuted as the lead vocalist of the girl group in 2009 with the song, "Lie." The group released a string of hits in the early 2010s, such as, "Bo Peep Bo Peep," "Roly-Poly," and "Lovey-Dovey."

She left the group in 2017 after the contract with her former agency, MBK Entertainment, expired. She has been releasing solo acts and starring in TV shows, including "Miss Back" (2020).

Knowing that Soyeon also suffered from anxiety because of her time in T-ara, sucks that they continue to face harassment in spite of staying low. the girls actually deserve a break from this.
