Our competition finally comes to an end
This year saw the introduction of a few new rules:
1. The queen must have been active in 2020
2. The previous queen (Sunmi) was excluded.

Still, amongst the contestant there was barely any new faces.
So before moving on to the result (there's no write up cause I'm lazy), let's talk about bringing back Omona's Nugudom. Do you guys want a nugu contest (for idols or groups that debuted in the last two years) or are you tired on these games?[Poll #2109030][Poll #2109030]

thanks op for your work hosting this contest! i am always up for more games but i honestly dont think no new faces can ever be fixed tbh people will naturally gravitate towards more known people. even a nugudom contest i think people would end up voting for the most successful nugu groups/groups from bigger companies its just the way it is idk but i do like having the opportunity to try and showcase some less known faves even if they get ignored lol

happy kim seo hyung was able to win despite most of the people voting for her not knowing who she was at the beginning of the contest i guess she is proof sometimes lesser known faves can persevere.

i think a most beautiful contest would bring more variety than sexy in my opinion or like other people suggested early on a cute contest because i feel sexy is very prescriptive? restricted? you tend to nominate people you know fit a certain mould so maybe thats one of the things that contributes to less variety. i think sexy also relies on knowing the persons personality a bit because not a lot of people find people sexy based purely on a picture so thats probably a factor too.

who knows. maybe i just want to promote my favourite beautiful actresses who i couldnt find enough material for for a sexy contest lmao

yesss congrats to kim seohyung! i was so competitive for the men's competition but for the women's competition, i basically agreed with any nomination lol

for me nugudom won't really work i think because like kyungwons says above, i feel like the most successful nugu group will win. or how about diversifying the competition a bit and including underappreciated groups as well? groups that have been active for a long time but still haven't got their win? or make it more song based or something? idk

I wouldn't be opposed to a nugu competition, but I think it will have to have really good guidelines on who is consideredd nugu && maybe be more about their body of work than just appearance && I also liked the Cutest competition idea but I think just like with sexiness , it might be subjective. And no double dipping!!

Anyway!! I really only agree with 2/5 (maybe 3 if I'm generous) of the results, but good for Omona in bringing some mature women to the spotlight!! I don't know what KSH did last year to amass such a following.

We are all winners in that we were given great 😍😍 material!

i am not familiar with ksh because i don't watch dramas, but based on the pictures you all have been posting, i respect and admire your taste. i love gnc women. maybe i will have to check out some of her work sometime.
i'm also proud of sana for making it to #2 - i wonder how long it'll take for a 3rd or even 4th gen idol to win these games. maybe omona's population is just too aged lol. all the young kpop fans are on twitter

I like the idea of cutest competition! I think it would bring out a whole new cast of idols and actresses/actors
A nugu/underappreciated groups competition would need set guidelines before the nomination post but it could be a nice way to expand our musical horizons :)
I also remember one time we voted for the best idol/actor pet and I loved all the photos of puppies, kitties and other pets. I would love another edition! It doesn't have to span for too long. Honestly even just the nomination post where I can see pets and their owners together is enough for me XD

I wish I had been less busy and could have commented more in the posts. I still enjoyed checking out who managed to get to the next round, and I really like this top 5 !

This was so fun and I like it way more than the men’s competition (even though that’s fine too) but OP I’d be down more for like Most Beautiful since I feel as if sexy is SO specific where many nominees just don’t fit. It could also open up to more diverse nominees as well!

2) a nugu competition - but what for? what are they competing for? will there be multiple awards like with best of 2020? also there needs to be really tight rules about this or it'll just be like, a dreamcatcher sweep as usual, can we stop considering dreamcatcher nugu yet? though if we're going on only the last couple years it might be a bvndit or some boy group i dn't know about sweep

I think I’d prefer a new group battle vs nugu, with multiple categories? Like groups that debuted between 2019-2021 and they can get nominated for various categories. We can even exclude Big 3 to keep in interesting and the focus on smaller groups

I think I slightly disagree, Idk Seo Hyung’s rankings last time during this contest but this is the first time I ever noticed her, plus I think this the first time Sana has gone so far (idk if she was nominated before, though I don’t really see it since she was very focused on cute prior to this) and a few others throughout the competition at least in the earlier rounds.

So I think new faces came through, but yea our older members (in age or following Kpop in general) who have said they don’t follow newer groups or artists as much. But I still really liked the turnout, it wasn’t just 2nd gen idols which was nice — though if those 2nd gen idols are staying busy like Yubin, I definitely want them to still be rooted for

I agree. I feel like I saw a lot of new faces who beat out the usual contestants and that was refreshing. I think the rules help define the contestants (now prior year winners and must be active in the past year). Cause I can think of a lot of females who I think are hella sexy but they haven't done things for years.

it's a win for everyone with the finalist list! although my faves didn't win, I'm still pleased that there was variety. thanks OP for the hard work, especially with the back to back rounds. would love for more competitions, but please do it at your comfortable pace

I was thinking we could revive the queens competition previously, where there were 5 categories (idol, nugu, actress, comedian and the last one I forgot). a nugu only competition might not grab a lot of attention and participation, especially if we're talking 2019-2021 debuts only.

I also agree with kyungwon's comment. I found many of the entries in the past years more cute than sexy so I usually ended up voting for whoever had more sex appeal whereas I'd have voted differently if it was a prettiest or most beautiful contest.
