SNSD Reported To Be Discussing Comeback Plans + SM Entertainment Responds

SM Entertainment has responded to reports about a potential Girls’ Generation comeback.

On February 19, industry representatives reported that the members have been discussing plans to make a comeback this year.

One source commented, “Although the members are now in different agencies, it is true that they are constantly discussing album plans as they are all on good terms.” Another source added that a comeback has not been confirmed, but the members are checking their schedules for a potential comeback in around May or June.

In response to the reports, a representative of SM Entertainment commented, “Nothing has been decided.”

Girls’ Generation’s previous album as a full group was “Holiday Night” in August 2017. In 2018, the five members in SM Entertainment released “Lil’ Touch” as Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG.

They haven't mentioned her name directly but some of them accidentally mentioned that they used to be 9 members (Sunny and Hyoyeon come to mind) and Yuri was caught watching the IG story of a Jessica fansite. Rumors also say that Sooyoung and Jessica used to hang out when Sooyoung was in LA since they have the same friends.

When Tiffany released I Just Wanna Dance she was asked by press if she has listened to Jessica's solo debut (which happened at the same time) and she went full "i don't know her"

Tiffany: You know, these days there are many singers who release their solo albums. I think all of them worked really hard, and some of them might have prepared for their albums longer than I did. I hope everybody will get a satisfactory result.

Right! How do you pretend you didn't spend YEARS with a person? Jessica was a HUGE part of the vocal line of SNSD.

I wonder if they read the book and tried to figure out who they were in the characters.

SM is probably one factor in them not being able to talk about Jessica, and I don't doubt that some of them could not be bothered with her after the book deal. but there are instances where some of the girls (Yuri, Hyo, Sunny) have mentioned SNSD as 9 before

People can complain about Jessica's nasal singing tone/say they didn't like her singing as much as [insert member not in vocal line] all they want but she was undeniably an important vocalist in SNSD's lineup.

Oh she definitely was the lead with her dominating many line distributions! But I’ll still complain lol. I like some nasally tones (I mean my faves are guilty) but I realized when she left that I liked the other members vocal tones more even if Jessica is objectively the better singer. I gave Jessica’s solo music a chance but it didn’t differ much from SNSD
