I wrote my original comment in the wrong post: this was cute for what it was but like that’s all I got for it. I wish they would have kept the humor going throughout. I liked the opening thing with Dahyun and the piano and the rivalry plot was great. The dance scenes were very empty and they aren’t...well they don’t fill a screen.
As for the song itself: well...they sound nice and that’s about it.
Oh also I feel like this need to be said: New Jack Swing started in the 80’s. The song is clearly inspired by the 80’s (the very clear references to Every Little Step). Please for the love of Jehovah, let the early 90’s take on New Jack Swing die. Find a new negro reference.
This was fun! I really wish they committed to the humor part since that’s where they should’ve shined best. Was pretty disappointed it quickly went into just cute sets/outfits although it was still visually pleasing
I like it! I was wondering how it would sound as Chaeyoung can sing but doesn’t have a strong vocal color and Dahyun can struggle, but this actually came out really lovely to me. It just shows you don’t have to be a great singer to do pop (like American pop and Kpop has shown us time and time again lol) with the right production and direction. It helps no one was being forced in a much higher range here.
Dahyun is SO pretty. She’s honestly had the biggest glow up in the group. Both girls look great but wow Dahyun really is a stunner. I was really loving the outfits!
.....but I gotta say Chaeyoung’s look with the braids me go 😬 I understand they’re just basic braids but paired with the outfit, it’s very obvious what the stylist was channeling. I get it, it’s supposed to be 90s — I think that project group that has 90s music also had a member dress up like this. But the influence is still Black culture and I’m glad some fans in the comments were bringing it up instead of hiding it like I was worried.
love that they look like they're having fun. chaeyoung's vocals are underrated and would love for her to sing more. maybe when she goes solo she can have a song where she sings and raps.
also liking how most of the moves were synchronised between the 2, and dahyun shines in the dancing part here
