lmao nct were never mediocre. their vocals and dancing skills on debut were better than half of the established groups. just because the styling was trash and they werent a hit with the public because their music is experimental doesnt mean theyre mediocre. the same with RV. happiness was mediocre but everything else wasnt, the public just had a grudge because of f(x). hit or miss is irrelevant, because thats not the same as mediocre.

anyway idk what you're on about because im criticizing SM. theyre doing the bare minimum with aespa, the styling is atrocious, this ballad is boring, and debuting the girls seems rushed and they look out of place. this isnt a nugu group from some mid or bottom tier company. i expect more because SM has shown time and time again that they can do better.

I feel like this is gonna be wholly generic (the original song already was...and six minutes), but like pleasant enough to not warrant any backlash. I feel like with what we have, Aespa have pleasant enough voices and the song isn’t a Whitney ballad so it’s not like it’s asking a lot (again based off what we know). Like they have to add a whole edm instrumental breakdown to fuck this up.

Anyway the video is gonna be a no from me. I don’t have to watch it to know that it’s a “look into the camera and be pretty while interacting with the background” scenario, and K pop makes the most awkward videos in that category.
