I think minnie has more charisma than gayoon so it was nice seeing her doing her parts, but shuhua remains a charisma vacuum :'( they should have just had her done her fellow charisma vacuum jihyun's parts and called it a day. they would have matched energy level at least.

I didnt like this, and at first I attributed it to the relay dance format. But other groups have done great covers this way (WEi did 2PM and Everglow covered Kara just last week). And the views for this! Over a million in just 10 hours.
Everglow girls had bright smiles and good facial expressions and looked like they were having fun.
Wei really got into the mood of the song and you can tell they put thought into the poses and I particularly liked one part of the choreo, where the people in the bg moved from left to right revealing there were three in a row, those details showed they thought about the format.
I wonder if it really is as commenter below says, that they can get away with not putting their all in now.
I like (G)I-DLE a lot but still can't get used to the fact that they are actually very popular in South Korea and have lots of international fans too. Their last comeback, 7 wins as of today. I mean...yeah they were not up against any big group but fans gives them wins every-freaking-comeback regardless of the song.
came across this on an ig which only posted shuhua, minnie and yuqi’s part and just...i genuinely wonder how shuhua is an idol or why she even wanted to be one??? the song is so fun and iconic and i will always appreciate CLC’s cover and the energy they put into it.
and gidle fans will really defend anything. i remember the APink cover the gg maknaes did and how fans were defending her saying she didn’t have time to learn/practice it. i’m pretty sure the same could be said for the other girls but they did just fine??
Shuhua is a puzzle to me too. I really think she should’ve been a streamer or YouTube personality. She seems like she has a lot of personality off stage but on stage it just disappears. So I’m not sure why she’s an idol either besides she probably really liked them when she was younger and wanted to do what her faves were doing.
But she likes doing v-lives/chatting with fans which fit youtube or just social media in general. She can still interact with fans but not have to perform on a stage.

I like gidle's music fine but a lot of their performances feel like siyeon and background friends. and that's not even me saying siyeon has too many lines. most of the time my eyes just end up following her because she's the only one bringing things :\ (with minnie a distant second)
I know Soyeon has said some dumb stuff and all, but you can't deny her hustle and her work. She's one of the most dedicated idols in the industry and she always gives 100%. I almost feel like she's let down by the rest of the group because, I mean, did Shuhua, Miyeon and Minnie even try for this? Yuqi was pretty meh too, Soojin did okay.
And then people blame her for doing too much and overshadowing the other members, like it's her fault they suck? lol I sound like a hater, I like them fine, but seriously. Soyeon is a force and the others occasionally seem like they should be filler members in some 12-members-group.
If they got rid of Miyeon and Shuhua and got some more talented visuals instead, they'd be a much better group overall tbh. And I say this as someone who likes the girls, but they are just...not good.

soyeon should have been a solo artist but i also dont think they could have made a gg with just the remaining members so i get why they didnt go down that route, like minnie has stage presence now but she didnt at the beginning so really soojin would have had to carry the group herself which never would have worked.
most groups have members who lack a lot of skills so thats not what bothers me with gidle the reason i cant get into them is because theyre 2 years on and they still have zero chemistry with each other on stage. like if i didnt know who gidle were and you told me this was six strangers who were put together a week ago i would believe you. they seem to like eachother off stage so i dont know why none of it translates to their performances.
I like the group, I think I can call myself a fan. And I also agree with you that Soyeon, Soojin, Yuqi and Minnie are just too good compared to Miyeon and Shuhua. Tho Shuhua is loved by lots of fans mostly because of what they see from behind the scene. She's cute and fun. As of late, her solo fancams are getting more views than other members.
I know they play a role as stan attractors, with their visuals and Shuhua with her off screen personality but I think they might be a rare case of "useless visuals" (which exist in most K-Pop groups lbr) to be that noticeably terrible. Especially Shuhua, I'm sorry but girl...how did she not improve in the slightest in the years since debut? I know she hadn't trained for super long then but it's been years now. If she had an ounce of talent, surely it would have presented itself.
And then you've got her fans screaming she needs more lines and more center time...like no, she doesn't. If anything, Cube knows what they're doing hiding her lack of talent in the title tracks, cause everytime she actually does something substantial, she sucks.
as usual soyeon and soojin carried this performance. soyeon really is a star. yuqi had her moments and i was really disappointed with minnie, i thought she'd do better but maybe she was just having an off day.
shuhua and miyeon remain painful to watch no matter whose song they're performing.
every time they perform half of them look like they don't care to be there. their debut song was great and i liked lion too, but i'm not gonna lie, i have no idea why they're so popular. usually even when i don't like/care for a group i get where they're popularity comes from but these girls? i have no idea.
I may not be the biggest fan of Soyeon, but home girl really hard carries this group. She doesn't even have to try hard to overshadow everyone else because the rest of them lack the charisma (in Miyeon's case) or talent (in Shuhua's case). Soojin is another standout member. Minnie and Yuqi have their moments when they can be eyecatching. Honestly, I feel like they could have been a 4 member group. Nowadays, when I remember that Miyeon was originally considered for BP, I think about how she would fit right in with them because they have similar energy levels on stage as well as her voice would also compliment their sound too.
