Here we go again: Mnet to launch new global girlgroup audition program "Girls Planet 999"

Mnet announced today that they're planning ̶p̶̶r̶̶o̶̶d̶̶u̶̶c̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶1̶̶0̶̶1̶̶ ̶̶s̶̶e̶̶a̶̶s̶̶o̶̶n̶̶ ̶̶5̶ a new girlgroup audition program called "Girls Planet 999" because they haven't rigged enough shows yet. It's going to be a Korea/China/Japan joint production and anybody from any country can apply as long as they have a connection to one of the 3 countries (such as agency/residency). Applicants must be born before January 1, 2006.

Ah yes. I’ll enjoy reading about how the show was rigged in 2023.

‘ Applicants must be born before January 1, 2006.’ Aka most of the contestants will probably be born between 2003-2005 with the winner/top ranked idol being 16* (I forgot we are now in 2021 lol but still based on IOI and izone the #1 girl will be young)

‘I hope no ‘evil editing’ on the show!’ Yea IA editing someone as mean for views is damaging for the idol edited. But I see very few ‘I hope this isn’t rigged’ which is much more of a main priority lol. Unless they want the X1 scandal to happen all over again 🤷‍♀️

dammit, i love and hate these types of shows. it's such a cool concept but it's always handled so badly, especially by mnet. they better have some kind of system in place for accountability.

I’m glad the mimum age is higher this time around since both somi and wonyoung were ridiculously young. should have been a lot higher though. teenagers are boring anyway (and have no business being on tv!)

Here we go again
I guess this time there will be audience votes + judging pannel votes, so MNET can push forward the idols they want in a way that isn't liable. Pretty much like Sixteen had votes but JYP very openly had the last say.
I'm wondering how many Chinese or Japanese idols will make it into the final group, after all IZ*ONE was introduced as an ~international group~ and a ~partnership~ between SK and Japan, yet they have as many Japanese members as TWICE. And how big the group will be (with that name though, 9 members is my guess).
2006? So as young as 15? MNET never changes...
And since I love-hate these kinds of show, I might end up watching it... fck
