Sometimes execs and labels just fuck it up and pick the wrong song to promote a debut/comeback.
And it's up to us to find those hidden gems, that might otherwise be burried under countless songs.
Every month I'll try to look back on girl group and female soloist release (I don't have time to waste on boys) and try to find out the song that should have been "IT" but was overlooked.

What's my expertise on this?
None whatsoever.

BoA - Better - The 10th album
TT: "Better"
ISHB: "L.O.V.E"

Better is a very solid album, as can be expected from the queen. She IS BoA after all.
I love the jazzyness of "All that jazz" (duh). It would make for such a georgous stage. I also adore the sexyness of "Temptation", but given the current trend in kpop (and my personal taste), I think "L.O.V.E" would have been a great choice. I just really want BOA to interact with GFriend and Twice (or even Kylie!!!!!!!! Can you imagine!!!!!!!!!!!). I sthat too much to ask????? fuck u rona
To be fair, I'm also partial to "Cut me off" and "Got me good".
It's just a good album through and through.



KATIE - Our time is blue
TT: "Our Time"
ISHB: "Faux"

"Our time" is the type of song I've come to expect from Katie, and I love everything about it. It's sexy, smooth and sensual, just how I like it.
That being said, "Faux" should have been the TT
a. It's a beautiful song

IZ*ONE - One-reeler / Act IV
TT: "Panorama"
ITSH: "Mise en scène"

This ep is not nearly as good as their previous release. I find the TT quite dull (in the most choatic way).
Although I can find a single song I'd put on repeat, I enjoy "Mise en scène" more than "Panorama", if only for the fact that it's not as high pitched so I can actually endure if without any harm done to my ears.



Yerin Baek - tellusboutyourself
TT: "0415"
ISHB: "Lovegame"

The synths people, the synths.



Taeyeon - WDICY
TT: "WDICY"
ISHB: "To the Moon"

It's such a nice, laid back, mini. So easy to listen to, but not in an elevator music kind of way. It's not an album you put on then forget about it; it's one you get cozy to listen to.
Any of the songs could have been a TT (especially this summer - it wold have been THE album the season).



Miso - Metanoia
TT: "Let it go"
ISHB: "Runaway"

"Runaway" might just be an intro, but it should have been thrice as long.

OP, I finally have one for this post! As much as I adore Panorama, I think Sequence should have been their title track. It's such a fantastic song, the more you listen to it the better it gets.

i can't contribute to this post because i was awwwwful in december at listening to new music i only listened to the titles and maybe 2 other songs so far for boa, baek yerin and taeyeon. i'll add these bsides to my current playlist on spotify to see if that jumpstarts my listening i hate being stuck in a mood where i only want to listen to songs i know i like.

boa's album is truly too good. and agreed on lovegame. i actually only really liked the title track for taeyeon; the album doesn't match purpose for me.

Many of BoA’s songs could have been a good title track. But perhaps because it samples from another song that makes it less “better” as a title track?

I liked I’ll be your family the most for Baek Yerin, and it felt more upbeat than the other two joint title tracks.

Agreed on To The Moon, it’s my fave track from her in the album!

Better was definitely the best choice for BoA, I’ve had that song on repeat. But Temptations and All That Jazz are amazing too! I think I would have loved Temptations as a title track too. LOVE is great! But has a smudge for me - the part at 1:17, idk those parts with the BoA/whoever in the background talking. Idk it just takes me out of the song each time. I wish they weren’t there and makes a 9/10 song an 8/10. Cut Me Off is a little bland for me in vocals and production.

Yerin too, 0415 is my favorite song so I’m very glad it’s a title track. It has a lot of replay value for me. I love the production so much. But Lovegame is fantastic too! I love that album lol

I have nothing to add to this except that I'm finally making it through my To Listen To playlist and went through both Baek Yerin albums (this one and Every Letter I Sent You) and both albums are so good. The overall vibe of each is great to listen to from start to finish.
