I have no words that can express how mad I am right now.
SM hasn't answered yet regarding the topic of Hendery's cultural appropriation and now this guy had the guts to brush it off when a fan brought it up.
How much more of a mess can this company be?
Well, today a sasaeng spread on Twitter pictures of Jungwoo smoking and now this is trending.
Fans are still trying to keep up the hashtags Hendery_apologise / Hendery_apologize, but Jungwoo's controversy is now getting more attention (they are also telling people to report the accounts that are spreading the pictures + the sasaeng's account).
I'm pissed. I wanted to make a post about it, but I'm very bad at making entries based on articles and Idk exactly if the sources are ok (only found the story on Kboo, a banned site that I won't mention and some that I've never heard of).
I'm actually starting to wonder whether SM is using Jungwoo's scandal as a cover-up, but Knetz would be more interested in someone smoking/drinking/etc. than someone disrespecting other cultures, so I doubt it.

About the vids: This second part was fun and that MV is a cute mess.
I'm glad Mark is back in NCT Dream, because his and Jeno's interactions are giving me life.

i for real don’t understand it. i get singers probably have stressful lives (especially with crazy ass sasaengs following their every move) and smoking might be their way of unwinding but i just don’t understand why you would smoke when it affects your voice?????

ikr, their argument was that it's for stress relief and i was like ok but there are so many methods of stress relief that do not involve fucking up your body :|

also the 2nd hand and 3rd hand smoke aspect, it doesn't just affect the person smoking. lmfao the stan lit refused to google 3rd hand smoke and said I hadn't done enough research about it bc obv proper hygeine negates the effects of 3rd hand smoke lmfao????????? lit stans are so tiring.

that’s the first time in my life that i heard proper hygiene canceling the effect of 3rd hand smoke. the length they go to defending their idols 😩

actually not surprised that these idols are smoking cause majority of korean men smoke (i looked it up and it says 50% of them are smoking acc. to their recent health journal).

Yeah I'm not surprised, but thought that vocalists would care more about their voice and throat esp when other singers talk about all they do to keep their throat in a good condition.

I mean I would think that vocalists would realize that smoking would damage their voices, but Yesung from SuJu says that he smokes to make his voice huskier...and then I remember Nat King Cole smoked because he thought it improved the quality of his voice as well. So in that case, it's like they're ignoring that it does more harm than good in the long run.

It's funny how you looked up the exact percentage of how many men smoke, because I just told my friends last night that at least 50% of them smoke because it is so normalized in their society. I guess my estimation wasn't off at all. Fans who can't believe that their idols smoke need to get a reality check, I may not like the idea of smoking but I know that there are more than a fair share of idols who smoke.

The way that hendery brushed her off while laughing is so infuriating. I can't look at him the same way. I'm so tired of sm idols in general never apologizing for ca and racist behavior. They only sweep it under the rug never to be talked about again.

When it comes to idols smoking, ultimately it's their life so I wish fans would quit making a big deal out of it. Although I never understood singers that smoke, especially if you're a main vocal.

I just wish fans wouldn't romanticise it and make it out to be something cool/ sexy. Which I've seen a lot of fans do :| It's a really gross habit that not only affects you but others around you. I imagine they also just reek of smoke so I feel bad for the staff lol

I agree. I find smoking in general to be a gross habit as well; never understood how some view it in an attractive manner.

But I meant those fans who act surprised when their idols get caught smoking. Seeing how there's such a huge percentage of smokers in south korea, it should be obvious that there would be a lot of idols that smoke.

Smoking is so so gross. do I think it should be a controversy that jungwoo smokes? no. but let's not act like smoking doesn't directly lead to cancer and a whole lot of other issues. It's nasty. What I hate most about fandoms is the lack of critical thinking in the names of one's faves.

I've already said my piece with hendery. All I'm saying is that if you intend to market your products to a global audience you should be more aware of what would be insensitive, racist, what have you to those global populations. I don't give a damn if shit doesn't work the same in your country.
